Think our automatics push depends on Gyok’s transfer.

We’re currently a top 6 side that are two great signings (CM & experienced CB) away from being a side who can get 85+ points
Do you reckon Gyokeres moves on? News on him seems to have gone a little quiet.

Losing Summerville is a big concern for Leeds but they players who should step up/return from loan are decent. If Joseph starts over Piroe that will make them much better at pressing from the front and improve Rutter as well. Aaronson is another decent option for the attack. In a slightly weaker division, I reckon they’ll get there this time.

RE Cov, I agree that the defence is the only part of the pitch that needs another addition or two. To be in early August with 80% of the transfer business already done is impressive though.
The hope with our defence is that they’re all young players who can develop but it remains the case the personnel is unchanged.

If we sell Sheaf as rumoured, as well as signing 2 CMs, we’d need to get a CB over the line and ideally an upgrade on Bidwell. A solid player but isn’t really transformative in the role.

No idea. More of a hope than an expectation.

Could be wrong but feels like it will be the difference between getting promoted or not unless we are able to blow teams away offensively like Ipswich did and/or Thomas & Binks have improved a lot over the summer.

If you repeat it often enough you'll believe it, there is naff all wrong with Bidwell and we may go one only if Sheaf moves!

Thank you @EFL View for an interesting and insightful article.

I hope you are right about us! We certainly have a chance of automatic promotion but I think the competition will be stiff. We do have an excellent chance of at least making the playoffs.

Really? I’m not trying to knock Bidwell too much, but he isn’t a leader in any statistical metric in defence or attack. In short, he’s a solid, 2.5-3/5 player. We’ve looked at 2-3 options for that position this window so it’s likely this season will be his last for us.

Besides, even the biggest Bidwell fan will need to accept that 31, there’s a need for succession planning.

If you’re aspiring to be a top Championship team, Bidwell isn’t going to be a your top choice for a LB.

They had us 3rd
It was a decent podcast! Some interesting picks, especially Watford finishing bottom!

Burnley and Leeds for Top 2 is sensible. I can see Luton finishing 3rd and as long as we’re 4-6th I’m happy. Top 4 should be a realistic goal after our business is concluded and should be pushing automatics.

Sheffield U I don’t have such high hopes for. Playoffs at best imo. They have Hamer right now but I cannot see him staying.

Championship chat pod has us 5th, but saying we have possibly the best attacking options in the league and wouldn't be shocked at a top 2 push. The podcasts seem to rate Boros chances too

Have I missed something with WBA? How do OPTA expect them to finish so high?

This is a fair prediction.

Our squad is in a better position than it’s ever been but the numbers are still short. With Sheaf and Kitching for Saturday, we make a 9 man bench with Burroughs. It’s too top heavy atm but there’s time to add to our group.

Quite a lot of depth in forward positions, but in midfield or defence and we’re down to the bare bones. That’s assuming no outgoings.

Possible that any Hamer transfer could give us a bit of extra cash too, so 2 opportunities.

Biggest concern at the moment would be if Sheaf went. Would give us funds to improve but losing your best player is always a risk.
