Bit off from Sky tarring all football fans with the same brush "many of them align themselves with the far-right".

Imagine just for one day all the immigrants who contribute to our society and pay their taxes laid down tools, just for one day or one week. All the NHS workers, all the workers in hospitality, etc. The country would grind to a halt.
How long do you refer to these workers as "immigrants ? "
My wife's consultant at UHCW is originally from Slovakia. He has lived and worked in the UK for nearly 20 years .
Is he an " immigrant", because I don't consider him as such ? It's easy to throw around the " immigrant" tag but I guess it's a rather crude way lumping everyone who wasn't UK born together, which I guess is what you want for the purposes of this exercise. .

We can all bring up crime statistics mate , if you really want to

I have no issue with anyone arguing that people here illegally committing crimes need to removed. I don’t think anyone has said they do.

From my point of view, what I do have an issue with is any potential discussion being hijacked by racists, islamophobes, thugs, wasters & far right wankers all being directed from afar by people like Katie Hopkins & Tommy Robinson (and potentially bankrolled from even further afield), people who want to avoid any kind of debate as opposed to whipping up anger and violence, mainly based on lies, disgusting tropes & stereotypes.

I think if I went to the CBS or around the Tesco park on match day and there were some right wing extremists trying to rake up trouble outside the ground who were not going to the match I would likely witness a bloodbath. Our supporters , and any other for that matter, would sort them out. Same at most grounds across the country.

But your happy to have discussions hijacked by people on the opposite end of the scale, anyone it seems who don't fit certain peoples narratives on this forum are descriptions you've just mentioned.

Not sure what you are getting at here. How would you know if the RWEs weren't going to a match. They always look like footy fans and not easy to distinguish. We at Cov have our fair share of teenage wannabe RWEs and middle age boys who are very much EDL sympathetic types. Never seen anyone stand up to them when they kick off..... I know I would bloody hesitate as most of them look mental if they get a bit wound up and I have my son with me at games. Some clubs (Sunderland ;)) have higher % of RWEs as this last week has demonstrated with a few footy shirts on show by the rioting fcukwits and not sure they would stand up either. The booing of BLM and taking the knee was a good gauge of the level of intellect at these sort of fans.

Indeed, let's look at the statistics.

Almost 110,000 racially motivated hate crimes, 2021-2022. 110,000.

How many of those do you think were inflicted by right-wing thickos conflating Muslim extremists with Muslims or brown people in general?

It would be much, and I mean *much* fucking better to not throw shit like this around as some sort of justification for what's going on right now.

It's exactly what the fucking racist nutters are doing - it's distasteful in the extreme.

Taking the knee was booed because it over ran and fans got fed up with it. As did Les Ferdinand. .
I guess what I mean is if they were clearly demonstrating outside the ground or around the Tesco park and were physically obstructing supporters on the way to the ground I could see a situation where a considerable number of our fans wouldn't react favourably, particularly given the fact that getting to the CBS isn't that easy for some .
In addition it would bring these people into contact with the likes of you and I who would otherwise want to stay away from areas of towns where this kind of trouble might be expected . It takes me almost an hour to get to the stadium. If someone wants to stop me going in there's only one way they will and it won't be by shouting in my face.

That's the thing. Evo clearly isn't justifying anything and it's exactly why there will never be constructive discussions.

Isn't tarring everybody with the same brush the exact thing you are moaning about?

Baffling.

People like her have done as much damage as any to race relations over the years.. she's a wanker

Genuinely no idea who she is; should I know?

Do you have a copy of the full video that the 2nd clip has been taken from?

I've got a feeling that all of this '100 planned protests' this evening is a load of shite

All feels a bit fake

Be hilarious if someone's managed to troll the entire countries coppers with a message

It really doesn't make them look good if they are telling shops to close because of a prick writing lists of places.

Don't think it would be hilarious. It's misinformation and it has consequences like in Birmingham on Monday evening.

Total waste of police resources. Imagine what would happen if the police had ignored the warnings and it all kicked off. They can't win.

It all just looks a bit simple to me.

100 protests? All on the same day? And a weeknight?

I reckon someone's had the old bills pants down for the whole country

Would go down as possibly THE greatest wind up of all time

Na it would be a bit funny come on.

6 thousand coppers expecting huge kick offs just stood about twiddling thier thumbs because someone's on the wind up

After the police had been doing their best to get people scared and fired up like it was an apocalypse it does make them look a bit silly.

Also interesting that in some videos about Birmingham there are people saying the police told them the EDL were coming.... Yet the police weren't there themselves.

It really is as if somebody has a huge wooden spoon.

Then why are we talking about Muslim extremism at exactly the same time as there are attacks on mosques going on?
