Robins now has 5 coaches working with him in the first team. That’s a lot more support in recent years to the players .

Going to be interesting who or how he bounces tactical thoughts/changes with in games. But ultimately he’s the decision maker.

Dempster seems popular round the club. Delaney did a cracking job with Villa's u23's and was well thought of. Heard some people say this is the cheap option which I think is bollocks. Sends a good message for any organisation to recruit from within in my opinion.

Get the impression this is another step forward in creating a positive culture around the club.

Going to stick my head out and say I don’t personally mind this change. We saw last year how the new rule diminished the role of the number two with them not being allowed to come up. Think Adi said something about it in the telegraph article. Both seem decent and good blokes who everyone knows and can hit the ground running.

The rule change had nothing to do with diminishing the role of the no 2. They could come up but only one person allowed in the technical area mainly because of abuse by staff in previous season towards officials especially clubs like Arsenal.

Amazing how people were up in arms about the Performance Director being too involved and now Mark Robins has made his choices some are saying cheap option! But I would bet those people have no idea what makes a good coach.

Good look to the new team as they have done a good job pre season.
