To be fair it was @PVA who tried to stir it up
It was a fair question and yet no-one ranting about hanging perpetrators (btw like something out the middle ages) has tried to properly answer it.
Before Im jumped on we should lock them up indefinitely for the heinous crimes don't care if here or country of birth but ridiculous to suggest deport to place of parents birth if born here.
This forum is demonstrating that hate fuels more hate and more violence and this is all playing into hands of Putin and Musk!

What do you want answering? Put a bullet between his eyes.

I'm not really sure the whole immigration discussion is about skin colour, no matter how overjoyed people seemed when they saw this bloke was white. (Even though it was pretty obvious he was eastern european).

No issue with hating somebody who gets a random kid in a headlock and stabs them, feel free to let him come stay at your house though.

Again yep
How bizarre for any of us to go yay he’s not Muslim or he’s white. That makes the injuries for the poor wee girl much better then

An additional reality is that 13 girls would remain unstabbed and alive in 3 cases had the perpetrators not been allowed into the country.
You cannot ban people from entering the country on the basis that their children might commit a crime.

As an aside, Mo Farah was allowed into the country from Somalia. I assume according to your racial profiling no Somalis should be allowed in?

Here you go:

The views you expressed about Albanians, Nigerians & Romanians- are they direct quotes by Trevor Phillips in these sources?

Maybe I’m wrong, and I’d be happy if I was wrong tbh as I find this stereotyping very distasteful & hopefully they are direct quotes, but I don’t see any such quotes from Trevor Phillips in these articles. They seem to be the views of @Harry Krishner , but before launching accusations I’d like to see whether he did say these things, if so then fair enough.

Or deciding to classify the country of Nigeria as full of fraudsters.

In fairness, Nigeria is one of the most fraudulent countries in the world. On the same list is actually Romania. Both those countries along with Albania have an overrepresented prison population in the UK. If you split it by religion there's also some interesting statistics.

I don't see why we can't talk about this normally and acknowledge these statistics, rather than doing the whole extreme opinions thing. Either painting everybody from one place as one thing on one side, or calling people racist on the other for talking about it. There's never any middle ground and it turns the forum into a playground.

I am willing to hear rational arguments about how to make immigration work better for the country. What I have a problem with is generalising and stereotyping by nationality.

I'm reasonably sure he did say them although you can see this was a few years ago. There is also a full report associated I seem to remember, but cba to look for it.

I'm genuinely not bothered if you find my "stereotyping" "distasteful" - would you be familiar with "the truth" i.e. actual events?

Also, what would be the difference if they are my views or those of Trevor Phillips (other than an enormous budget to fund research)?

A quick google will show you that Nigerians in the U.K. are performing excellently at school & university, with growing numbers.

but yeah, “they’re all fraudsters”

stop with the incredibly lazy stereotypes you pick up on X and Telegram.

Your original post doesn’t quote anyone or cite any statistics, nor is a 9 year old Guardian article giving much support to it.

I’m stunned that it’s being allowed to remain up on here to be honest.

so you’re lying about it being a quote, I see. We’ll leave it there I guess.

Think it's pretty obvious not every Nigerian person is into fraud?

I remember people jumped on me for saying something about a Nigerian Scam a while back, when I was talking about a well known Scam carried out mainly by Nigerians.

There are plenty of websites / companies that block entire countries based on it.

It’s along the lines of what Trump said about Mexicans.

‘They’re bringing crime, they’re rapists, they’re criminals. I assume some are good people.’

Isn’t that what the immigration system has always done? A UK passport will get you more places than a Syrian one.

not obvious to Harry, he said “Nigerians are predisposed to fraud”. You asked if that was a quote, he said it was, that turned out to be a lie in itself.

Not gonna get sucked in again, but for me some of this stuff is like going back to the 1970s.

That is different to ascribing different criminal acts to different nationalities seeking to live here.

Is it not a discussion point when it comes to immigration?

Obviously, not every Nigerian person or Albanian person is going to be a criminal but surely if the statistics show particular things then they need to be looked into. For example when it comes to weed farms, Albanians and Vietnamise people are heavily involved.

Online scams, West Africa and Southeast Asia are mostly well known for advance fee scams. There are companies, blacklist and email protection companies who literally block Nigerian internet traffic.

Then prove it instead of tarring whole groups with the crime.

as opposed to pretending Trevor Phillips said it, then putting up links with no mention of him saying it, then having to admit that actually he probably didn’t say it.
Taking that aside, he also claimed that people couldn’t be blamed for assuming the suspect in Southport was Muslim just based on the MO.

Is that racist after Taylor Swift had to cancel concerts for people to link things and make assumptions?

Let's not pretend that people who might link things and have those thoughts are all racists. (Obviously, attacking a mosque because of it is a complete different kettle of fish)

I know, it’s an onslaught of this shite from some people. Complete inability to deal in fact & statistics as opposed to what Tommy & Katie tell them to think. No issue with opinions that can be backed up, and there are clearly big problems to look at- but what Harry did there was disgusting.

The concerts were cancelled because they had intelligence. Many stabbings in this country are carried out by people who aren’t Muslim.

Assuming the attacker to be one based just on that information is racial profiling whether you mean it to be or not. He was born in Wales to parents from an overwhelmingly Christian country.

I think you'll find he did say it, but I'm not prepared to waste time digging around just to prove a point to what I assume to be a group of school sixth formers.

When it comes to mass stabbings in public places in Europe (and beyond), well yes, many such attacks are performed by Muslims in the name of Allah.

Are Muslims responsible for most UK knife crime?

I thought the reference to Phillips was the Muslim comments which led him to be banned from the Labour Party

Yes and people were arrested who had just converted to Islam who planned to carry out a terror attack. Aren't you just assuming he was Christian too?

Let's not pretend that people don't think things, rightly or wrongly. Look at the Manchester Arena Bombings, a security guard had a bad feeling but was too scared to do anything about it.

People will be judging others hundreds of times a day whether they mean to or not, based on loads of different factors.

Of course, if they start smashing things up based on it then it's completely different.
