Summer transfer window 2024 (60 Viewers)

Technically, they haven't. £75m has had to go towards owed transfer instalments this summer and not all the £110m would've been received up front. There's also still about £115m owed in the near future as well which will inevitably be on their mind.

There will undoubtedly be an expectation from the owners that at least some of the losses incurred over the coming season will be in part plugged by incoming transfer fees.

Pretty dire situation to be in really but their decision making in regards to transfers over the past 2-3 seasons has been appalling so only themselves to blame.
Didn't realise they were in that much financial trouble.

To be fair, we have no idea financially where the club are at in regards to remaining funds. Club could easily spend some money this year and recoup when viktor is sold. I have it on no authority that we’ll sign a player soon*

*Maybe in the next window*

Then we should have spent wiser, the squad is so unbalanced

*more wisely

You need to chill, though. It's unbalanced two weeks before the window shuts to sort at least one CM. Sheaf isn't leaving either. Which part of the spending so far was unwise out of interest?

Exactly !
We need another midfielder that is blindingly obvious and cover at RB .
It's as balanced a squad we've had in years when all are fit

playing a risky waiting game if we’re waiting for hamer and vik sales as decent loans will be heading out now and we’ll inevitably get shafted late in the window
I can’t see hamer or vik moving, there’s no real substance to any rumors

it’s all well and good having the firepower we’ve got but the defence and midfield has to be prioritized in equal measure

I convinced Hamer will go, he is too good for the Championship, proved himself a good Prem player in a woeful team.

I have a feeling he probably isn't top pick for a lot of teams but as other targets get poached someone will end up going in for him.

I know it's preferable to sign players on a permanent basin, for obvious reasons, but arguably 3 out of 4 of our best players from the last decade were permanent moves from loan signings. There's a case for signing players with high potential on loan, who then may well want to sign permanently at the end of the year. Lets you test the water with players as well, rather than committing 100% to someone who may not even take to English league football, or could at least take a while to adapt.

I think we've gone full arc from too many loans, to not using the loan market at all. Surely there's a middle ground where they can compliment the current squad.

To be frank this is getting ludicrous. The window is still open. The loan window longer still. Sheaf is still here. We were pushing for play offs last year and have strengthened the squad. There is obviously activity going on at the club. Why are we so desperate for instant news and activity.
Agreed but loan window isn’t open longer fyi

Loan window also closes in 2 weeks

Why are you so negative this summer ?

We're starting Jamie Allen

Yet have aspirations of Top 6?

We've had the same issue now for a year, 3 windows. We do not have someone good enough to keep us ticking over without weetabix Sheaf. Let alone alongside him

That's why I'm miserable, it cost us last season and it will cost us this if we don't sort it

Loan window and transfer window are the same and have been for about a million years now

If a club was going to come in for him they probably would've met his fairly nominal release clause, which has now expired.

That's a pretty wild take. 2nd in the assist table last season and there's not a Leeds fan I've spoken to or seen online that isn't gutted he's left.
If someone comes in for Gnonto in the next couple of weeks, they really might have a tough time going up.

This is the year we should really go for it

going to be hard to keep some members of the squad after this summer, will be a real lost opportunity if the squad stays as it is.

will be a similar sort of position finish as last year if things stay the same, top 10

It’s a competition. What others are doing is directly relevant. Ignoring the competitive context is ridiculous.
we cannot control who others bring in so it is a waste of time worrying about it. CCFC can only control who we bring in/ship out so that is my only concern
