Was Roland Nilsson our best ever Right Back ? (3 Viewers)

Nilsson, all day long. Positioning, vision, strength, marking, tackling, passing, overlapping…the best RB we’ve had, just so slick and effortless in his play.

Accomplished is the word I’m looking for.

Borrows was a great servant, but I’m glad to have seen Nilsson in Sky Blue.
Always thought he should have been at a top, top side, he was just flawlessly good. Even at 34 to 36, while he was with us.

Ally Pickering, despite how clumsy he was, could really whip in a decent cross from time to time. 👍🏻

I don’t remember Thomas other than for being injured for Spuds. The old man said he was really good.
Nilsson was quality but Borrows was always my preferred choice at RB in my city all time XI. As others have said, very underrated. Had skills, was rapid and could hit a ball.
Having said this I think MVE could overtake him. MVE is quicker and stronger.

I know we’re a league below but I reckon there might be a couple of players over the last couple of years who’d make that XI. Namely Vik, Gus and MVE.

An all time xi of mine wouldn't have any players from the last 20 years

Glazier
Pearce
Peake
Gillespie
Borrows
Hutchison
Hunt ( Steve)
McAllister
Bennett
Dublin
Keane

I mean, it’s fair enough but what got me thinking was that I think Vik is probably better than Dublin…possibly better than Keane. Seems strange typing that.

TBH I don’t think Hamer gets near my XI.

I wouldn't say before my time but before I started taking a huge interest in CCFC. The season I started going to watch games a lot was what is most easily referred to as the 'Keane' season, or perhaps The Entertainers. I think Strachan played Telfer a lot at RB that season and Gustafsson too.. fair to say one of our weakest areas!
I think MVE is probably the best in all honesty for me, but there's not much to choose from.

Almost the team I would have gone for except Steve Hunt , didn't rate him much .

All time top 11 is difficult. Started going up late 70’s so a big chunk was in different leagues. But just on quality alone mine would have to be:
Ogrizovic
Nilsson Peake Babb Pearce
Bennett McAllister Robson Gallacher (wrong wing I know)
Regis Dublin
