We need a dynamic 8 desperately. Get Sheaf back, and find someone to play with him and Rudoni. Eccles and Torp are not good enough if we have any aspirations of even top 6. Top 2 is laughable.

4 from Oxford home and Bristol away is ok. It's the Stoke game letting us down but it's gone now so not much we can do.

Said this since the start. Poor window if we fail to recruit another CM and CB.
We need to sign a 6. I watched Apadou for Leeds he broke play up, moped up and started attacks. We need a player to be that protector of the back 4 an excellent communicator and that is bound to help the defending.

All this obsession with Sheaf.

Cov need to be more than just hoping Sheaf is available.

Cov need to cope when Sheaf is injured or off form.

Cov need to cope when Sheaf is sold to Southampton

Yeah I nicked that from another forum

We've just carried on from last season, no lessons learnt. The squad is too soft, that player who swung for Wright after the goal should have been put into row z the first time he got the ball. We need to start giving it out instead of being bullied all the time. We need to forget the process for one signing, get an experienced championship player who can do the basics well but will kick the fuck out of the opposition for 90 mins.

Oh and luton with prob a better squad than us are nearly bottom of the league with 1 point 😂 and Sunderland with a worse squad than us are top 👍

Burnley lost 1-0 away to Sunderland today, who have just lost their best player, and Sunderland completely dominated. That's runaway league champions Burnley who are going to piss the league.

Maybe a draw away at a good side, when you're not playing well, is a good result.

Always nice to see some balanced reflection & perspective after the first three games 🙈

This isn't a knee jerk reaction after 3 games though, people are reacting after seeing a continuation of what we saw throughout last season.

Time after time we heard "players need time to gel" and then it became "players are tired we need depth"

The core of the squad has been together long enough now and we have certainly improved the squad (if not the starting XI or CM).

There aren't any excuses anymore for these kind of performances.

exactly and this is prob the best start we’ve had for years
Out of curiosity I researched our results over the first 3 matches since we came back to the Championship. Below is what I found

20-21 - 4 points
21-22 - 6 points
22-23 - 1 point (made the playoff final)
23-24 - 4 points

Still not a fan of starting slow and having to make up lost ground. But still early and we definitely need some help in midfield in this window or in the free agent market which will still be open after this week as I understand. So hopefully we can pick up some useful players.

We should have pulled out all the stops to sign Alan Browne. We haven't had a leader on the field since McFadzean. I don't pretend to be an expert but I played at a reasonable level for a few years and it just seems achingly obvious to me that we need that someone who can be an anchor.

Did you say anchor?

This is what I mean with the hyperbole and bedwetting. “Throughout last season”- despite the fact we were in & around the playoffs up until the run-in & got to the FA Cup semi final which arguably cost us getting into the playoffs.

it was a very flat performance, which is frustrating & Robins called it out himself- however some of this extreme stuff is pure rubbish.

Is Milner getting a game at Brighton?

Have you forgotten that the first 1/3 of the season was dire (see PNE, Rotherham away). We then went on a great run and were in the top 4 of the form table for a long time. The games then caught up with us and a lot of the early warning signs started to bite us on the arse, leading to some shocking late season performances.

Barring Oxford, this has continued.

If you want to trawl the records in an attempt to portray things as diabolical and go after some weird justification for the rubbish being spouted, thats your call.

There’s only been three games, so saying “barring Oxford” as if there’s been one good game from loads isn’t quite as hard hitting as you want it to be.

We didn’t play well, Robins said so himself, got a solid away point against a decent team and it’s not a disastrous start to the season at all.

Where is the call for all the silly over the top drama being spouted

we are too predictable with the ball

we have little flair in the final 3rd

Oxford goals came from wide play, teams stop that we have no plan b through the middle like yesterday

Think the midfield looked even worse yesterday because Bristol packed theirs. They essentially made a box midfield and had an extra out on the wing, compared to us who have Haji and Sakamoto constantly hugging the touch line so they were always winning the numbers game.
