My worry is we got gazumped on Stamenic and Madsen, so we have another far enough along in the pipeline? I really don’t want a Kitching situation where we sign Kyprianou for £8m on deadline day.

To be fair while the fee would be ridiculous, we would at least have a young cdm who can play the holding midfielder role and mean we could sell sheaf next year without panicking.

Agree with both comments. Would like Kyprianou but whilst Doug has got a reputation for being a strong negotiator I'd also argue he's proved he will pay over the odds on deadline day (Kitching and Mason Clarke).

I’m not sure why you are choosing to die on this hill but he’s not a CDM. Matesca said last season that he lacked the defensive qualities to play deeper.
Leicester played 4-3-3 last year with no 10, you can say sorry to T&B

It's open from his quote on Friday, just the usual denial from a coach really!
yeah, no coaches is going to say at this stage "we're absolutely gagging for a couple signings this week".

That'll just increase any transfer fees we would need to pay

Maybe I'm being arrogant here but if we really really wanted Madsen I think we would have beaten QPR, suggests to me that QPR have either paid well over the odds to beat us or our recruitment just decided he wasn't right for us and hopefully that means someone else is already lined up.

He isn't the cdm style midfielder we need

Leicester played with KDH as their most advanced midfielder not Casedi. When he came on he played as an additional forward threat.

Apology accepted.
No they didn't

There was no 10, there were 2 8s and a 6

8s can play further forward and usually 1 one will ne deeper and 1 more forward

Still if you want to be wrong yet again so be it

What if we got a really shit 6 and another injury prone 8/10, would the difference give us a 4 or a 2 on average?

Would we still need another fucking 6 or what? 🤣

Since many on here are panicking 😱 Is Yasin Ayari still available for a loan? He could possibly contribute another goal with his knob 🤣

What is all this 6, 8 10 stuff , I still think of players as defenders ,midfielders, strikers or wide men.

I thought it was the old 2-3-5 formation:

Goalkeeper 1
Right Back 2
Left Back 3
Right Half 4
Centre Half 5
Left Half 6
Right Wing 7
Inside Right 8
Centre Forward 9
Inside Left 10
Left Wing 11

No substitutes.

The ball was made of leather, weighed about half a ton when wet and was tied up with laces.

Pitches 6 inches deep with mud in winter.

A goal scored by shoulder-barging the goalkeeper into the net when he was holding the ball would stand.

Those were the days 😊
