We should have recognised early that Bristol packed their midfield and dragged Rudoni back to make it a flat three. Then Wright and Saka could get more narrow to support Simms whilst nullifying Bristol.

We didn’t really react to their setup and we got a point more out of luck than anything. On the plus side nicking a point when you play that poorly is a good thing really.

I wish we wouldn’t be so passive, we have the players to dominate games.

We've just carried on from last season, no lessons learnt. The squad is too soft, that player who swung for Wright after the goal should have been put into row z the first time he got the ball. We need to start giving it out instead of being bullied all the time. We need to forget the process for one signing, get an experienced championship player who can do the basics well but will kick the fuck out of the opposition for 90 mins.

I think missing out on Browne will turn out to be pivotal in our season if we don't get another midfielder in.

We will get another midfielder in, as you say we missed out on Browne and also Stamenic. Two players who’d be expensive wage-wise and in the latter’s case, a sizeable transfer fee.

The midfield and defence isn’t looking great atm.

We need to sign a 6. I watched Apadou for Leeds he broke play up, moped up and started attacks. We need a player to be that protector of the back 4 an excellent communicator and that is bound to help the defending.

I don't think anyone at our end could be blamed.
Stamenic was deemed to be the better signing, but unfortunately he dicked us about, and his end made sure it was played out in public for his own benefit.

I can't keep going back to the fact that we start games slowly and last season the table reflected on a 1st half 2nd half results basis .. but also because we are more passive it has a knock on effect directly creating problems throughout the team and we struggle to get going .

Because we are set up more negatively in the first half ( see less overlaps from tats and MVE , dropping in when one goes forward etc ) it's creating a static team and one that isn't moving as much to recieve the ball .. midfield therefore is looking far worse because of this as a natural outlet

A shift in mentality whoever comes in is needed away from home

Us and boro decided to start playing at half time whilst the rest of the top 6 are still in the top 8 of the division ..

Coventry and boro again 2 teams both struggling to get going getting points in second half of matches


We are a pretty poor team in the first half of matches as the tables show , it's important Information

We were losing more than we are winning at half time , again putting us in the lower half of the league

Teams that start poorly and chase games generally don't finish the season where they would like

Well, yes. Way too early to write us off.

But, it seems to me most people are not doing that. We lost 5 of the last 6 last season, and were well beaten in all those games. The exception was a 0-0 draw at Blackburn where they had 30 goal attempts to our 6. We've hardly pulled up any trees this season either. It's a poor run of form with reoccurring issues. It's simply pattern recognition, that some on here dismiss as 'bedwetting'.

I'm still optimistic and no need to panic though.

Yes and no. We obviously thought Stamenic was the better of the two which is supported by the fact there was Prem interest/buyer. We don’t know what promises were made by player, agent etc. ultimately we just got gazumped

Id be more a lot more concerned if we hadn’t gone for either because we thought we were well stocked.

I was saying the only player playing outfield was Rudoni and the other players we have don't currently play in the position which is patently struggling atm ...centre midfield

Yes, the end of last season was a disappointment but we had a tough run in and it was clear that our lack of depth meant players were exhausted.

It is bedwetting because we’ve only lost one game this season. If it was 10 games in and everything was patchy, the I’d be more sympathetic!
