league cup draw (5 Viewers)

so wanted to check when the time of the draw - which is around 10.15 tonight, but then found out it is seeded
so no Champions league or Europa league teams can play each other

This means, all probably going to progress with weakened teams with no chance of knocking each other out
The opposite of that means an increased chance of getting a bigger team

That said I hate these draws, a proper cup draw is like the FA cup where you can draw anybody

It's not really seeded, it's just that the CL teams can't play on a certain date due to CL games and it is the same for EL teams.

You're correct but it's a bullshit reason as it makes no sense and is so different if they play eachother or not. In fact if anything that they draw eachother it's less of an issue as they're only affecting one game rather than two.

That's part of the reason the league Cup is seen as a bit of a piss take.

It’s completely broken. A cup that nobody loves (as soon as you’re out you stop paying attention) but is now skewed so that the clubs who have helped break it have a major advantage. However, even they don’t take it seriously until/unless they get to the semifinals.

The biggest pisstake is that the reward for winning it is exactly the same as the reward for winning the FA Cup. So all the teams in Europe enter late, avoid each other in the third round and have the strongest squads anyway and then can rinse and repeat if they win the final.

Very likely to be 18 teams out 32 from the Prem so a fair chance we'll get one. Normally would like a decent away trip, but as there would be a half full stadium with our end packed, I think I'd prefer one of the big teams at the CBS and a packed stadium.

it is but it's being spoken about like they are doing to to help the bigger clubs win when it is an issue with the scheduling of the new extended CL and EL.

Just get rid of anyone playing in Europe, I'm sure the rest of PL would become more interested if they thought they had a chance of winning

You think we see some weakened teams now? Without the prize of European football at the end of it the Prem clubs would be playing their youth reserves.

I think we are due a visit from one of the big boys. Should sell it out at the CBS and we’ve seen the effect that can have (Leeds, Leicester etc.)

I reckon we’d stand the most chance against Spurs or Chelsea, but seeing Liverpool or Arsenal would be decent.

Those ‘shit’ draws last season allowed us to make an FA cup semi and get within a hairs breadth of a final.
And?

It's been ages since we drew a big team at home, why can't we have that for once?

It will be fucking Barrow or something

I want our younger generation to experience seeing a top Premier league team at the CBS for a change is that alright?
Younger generation could get to experience the excitement of getting to business end of a cup competion again which would be bigger than a pren team at home. Especially in 3rd round where most big teams rotate alot

Which may be good for those living in North East England or Scotland 😉
I went to Barrow the other year to get it ticked off my 92 and it is the most awkward place to get to I have ever been, you have to go up the M6, past where you are going to loop back down to Barrow on the A-Roads

Wasn’t old enough to ever see a Coventry Villa match. So always hoping for one. Villa at home
I can't say I am that bothered about drawing Villa - and of course I wouldn't say I like them, but I never seen us play them so I can't even get myself motivated to barb them as much as some of our older fans

Also living in Tamworth, surrounded by them going to Villa Park and getting pasted would make my life a lot more unbearable :ROFLMAO: if we get them I hope it is at home

I went on the Dave Myers memorial motorbike ride in June & was surprised how far it is from the M6
