Palmer leaving (29 Viewers)

Bit surprised; a very frustrating player but also can be very exciting. Contributed positively in both Bristol games and always gets himself involved. Sometimes I think his brain sees moves that he just can’t pull off.
Good luck to him

This is a win-win - he’s at a stage of his career where he need to be starting every week and be the focal point of a team, simply won’t get that here. I hope he goes on to be successful.

🤷‍♂️ I liked Kasey.

Thought he got some weird criticism for stuff like workrate. I don't think he is suited to being a starter or someone who can maintain levels required for 90 mins regularly but I was actually pretty pleased by the possibility that he could be seen as that luxury player in our stronger squad this season. Someone to bring on and change a game or unlock a stubborn defence.

Hopefully we bring in at least 1 player tomorrow but I have a horrible feeling we will be lacking in game changers and spark players now.

I like Palmer but let's be honest, of all the best moments of the past two seasons he's not often been involved. Didn't play in the run to the play offs. Even the Wolves game last season, the comeback happened after he had went off.

Good luck to him as I think he, despite appearances, is a committed player who works as hard as he's capable of.
He played a part in Simms goal didn't he? Free kick

We've certainly improved him on that front, quite a few full matches and coping with jetlag?
Yes, valid point, however if he has to make way for a CDM to come in, then so be it. Nothing against him personally.

I just hope if he does go, then we get the other incoming transfer over the line in time.

The Wolves comeback happened after he went off? We were winning when he went off.

£750k seems cheap as chips but if he wants 25k p/w then I guess there is a very small market.

This is what Nigel Pearson said about kasey after he left to join us .. Robins said something not as direct but indirectly questioned his work defensively .

this is an ongoing thing for kasey at this level

One of him and Allen had to go really, if he stuck his head above the parapet then he made the choice easy. Allen is better suited to the AM role anyway, and hopefully this means cash is freed up for a proper CM.

He is an unplayable player on his day, just his day comes limited and few, if he was consistent he would be at least a mid table premier league player I firmly believe that.
When he’s not on it he looks lost, you can see why he’s never played at a higher level he lacks the consistency and fitness but I liked him especially when he was slide tackling centre halves by their penalty area

We have a Todd Cantwell thread already, stick this on there please 😂

How many times has he changed a game for us in two and a bit seasons?
Indeed. Palmer is more the sort of player that shines when the team are in control and he takes the piss out of the opposition, But he's not the type of player that will get a team having a bad game out of the doldrums.
