Exactly and you’ve implicitly shown the arguments for letting him go. First and foremost, there’s a reason he wasn’t a starter. Second, we’ve improved as a club and need better players than Palmer. Finally, Palmer hasn’t been fit enough to play 30+ games as a starter.Slightly misleading due to the fact that in previous seasons he's had players like Hamer and O'hare in the midfield ahead of him, who were more attacking midfielders.
How many of those appearances were starts for example?
This season he's been the main creative midfielder and already has good returns, all be it from a small number of games.
yeah only several times a match
Peoples hatred of him goes way too far.

He was below O'Hare on Shot Creating Actions last season per 90 and Ayari and only a tiny margin ahead of a half fit Torp.
You quite literally just said apparently that half those don't count. Even for you it's mental how much you pick and choose what you want.So what. As I said Tavares had 5 contributions last season in 10 appearances

Id be very dissapointed of he left without an adequate replacement.
There is zero doubt for me he has the ability to change ganes and has the MOST x factor in our current squad.
My biggest complaint of him is hes somewhat of a flat track bully...ie good against shite sides and hasnt really delivered against the top sides.
Palmer often got the weight of his passing wrong, even the one to Simms at Bristol was overhit. Torp is most likely of the players we've got currently to slip a good ball through.Need the PL through ball stat to argue back here really. O’Hare can’t weight a pass. Torp can but isn’t an AM IMO, Ayari I thought had potential and is a PL player now.
Nothing sums up why I hate the new obsession with assists more than the fact that people are acting like Palmer’s ‘assist’ against Oxford is some sort of meaningful contribution. He passed the ball sideways to BTA, 25 yards out of from goal, who then whacked the ball into the leg of a defender and, thanks to a massive stroke of luck, it’s ended up in the back of the net.

the game moving further away from ‘flair’ players.
Sadly , it's trueSome of us don’t agree with this

Not sure but they definitely did warn us

He won’t playPalmer Odds on to score against us
He completed 0.75 through balls per game last year, next most of anyone currently in the squad was Sakamoto with 0.29.
He was the only one trying/making those passes last year.
I think Rudoni will make a fair few this season, but KP was definitely the stand out for through balls last season, no one comes close really.
Hi Simon, didn’t know you were a cov fan! There is zero doubt for me he has the ability to change ganes and has the MOST x factor in our current squad.
tell that to pepSome of us don’t agree with this
Yes, this is one good area. Now look at how he ranks overall when it comes to successful passes and completion rate %. Look at successful dribbles (%) compared to his dribbles and successful dribbles and again at shots and shot accuracy.
It paints a picture: high volume of attempts, low volume of success. In other words, inefficient with his use of the ball which is why so many people get frustrated with him.
Hamer was given a lot more leeway than Palmer in this respectI don't disagree with some of what you say there, but on pass completion...
