I’m still of the opinion that we have plenty of cover at RB, we have Lati, Eccles and Tats if needs be, it really isn’t a priority. There’s really no need to spend a decent amount of money on a player that isn’t going to get in at any point in front of the best RB in the division.
I respect your opinion but choose to disagree. What if we are in the situation not far moved from the start of the season CB suspended, Sheaf injured, Tats out of form and then MVE picks up a. Injury, where is the cover then? I think if some of the other gaps are filled then maybe we have sufficient cover as youbhave outlined but as the squad is today, no we don't have sufficient cover.

Agreed in that circumstance perhaps, but you’ve just listed a lot of variables. That’s like saying “What if all 4 CBs are injured? Then what?” Cover is cover.

Hope Doug's planned his holidays a bit better this deadline day. Wasn't he travelling round the Pyrenees or something last time trying to do a deal with the Peterborough chairman.

And the Peterborough chairman admitted he was drunk!

Cantwell is Rudoni. We already have two expensive players in Wright and EMC competing for one position. I don't buy all that squad depth tosh, it's a cliche. Ideally you need an obvious number 1 and a good quality deputy who recognizes that is his role. Sheaf and Eccles. We have competition of equals at left back but only because neither is ideal.

The key to the play off season was two players worth serious cash in the most important positions - Vik & Gus - and two good loans in defence. For all our purchases Wright and MVE are the ones who might claim to be top drawer. The rest are handy, good, but based on early performances, not top drawer.

I remain happy with Sheaf as CDM with Eccles as back up. However we have no cover at all for MVE.

People still mentioning Hamer.

Some of us remember when Cantwell ran Hamer and his friend O'Hare all over St Andrews:

Even just in terms of numbers we’re light in midfield now. Injuries to Sheaf and Rudoni would force us to play Allen Torp Eccles 90 mins every week.

Logically with a Palmer departure a replacement would be likely . I wouldn't be aversed to Cantwell . I do believe that we have the right management/ coaching team to get the best out of him and his best is top drawer.
I would expect one more in , possibly a loan.

Take it you’ll be delighted if we don’t add a player in an area of the pitch where we are desperate for more balance and quality then, sound
Yes, naturally, after stating for months that we need a CDM and how gutted I was that we signed neither Stamenic or Browne.

Just dry it off and spray it with Fabreze, don’t be embarrassed.

No one is bed wetting, it’s painfully obvious to anyone that watches every game that we need to improve the midfield if we are to progress
