I know I probably got the most “bedwetter of the season” nominations a few weeks ago, but I agree with Proc and Saddle that it’s very concerning that any potential CM and/or RB signings are going right down to the wire.

If the Palmer rumour is true then that’s even more worrying, we need a CM as it is, let alone if Palmer left on top of that. Our midfield has been poor for a little while now, it seriously needs strengthening, I think promotion hinges on it tbh.
Oh god please get some perspective

Think Andy’s finally cracking. Can’t blame him when you’ve got wet wipes like Haji Szn having a pop

All of his articles seems to be way behind and mostly involve copy and pasting from club statements, X, and other news outlets. Is he really surprised about the stick he gets?!

So judgement day has finally arrived!
Will we sign anyone?
Will we sign just midfielder or will we add to the squad in other positions?
Will we overspend on someone from league one?

If the Kasey wages go towards Cantwell, we sign a DM, and maybe an experienced CB, I'd be ecstatic. Something tells me we may get one in, and that's that. It feels like Robins isn't trying to conform to one single system but rather have a squad that can be fluid and conform to different challenges as they come along. With that comes different personnel, such as Cantwell, in a position we aren't seemingly playing with at the moment.

If we get Cantwell then that's a poor signing for me

He isn't what we need at all. Fans can see we are crying out for a DM. If we neglect it AGAIN, 3 windows later from Hamer leaving then that is piss poor
Im torn on this @Saddlebrains

we certainly need cover for Sheaf, no debate, however if Sheaf stays fit then they won’t play much ! Should we spend big on cover ?

if Palmer goes I think we need a young up and coming 6 and a proven 8.

Worth remembering when we all start to be frustrated later ….. still a hell of a window

“So far the Sky Blues have welcomed seven new permanent signings - Ephron Mason-Clark, Raphael, Luis Binks, Jack Rudoni, Oliver Dovin, Brandon Thomas-Asante and Norman Bassette - to the collective tune of around £15m (£4.25m of that was spent in January on Mason-Clark, of course, who only joined up with the club in July).”

I for one would be delighted if we signed Cantwell. If we got him back to the form he had only 2 years ago in the Championship, we’d have a premier league midfielder on our hands. He was incredible for Norwich and at that time we could only dream of having such a quality player in our side. He’s only 26 so plenty of time to recover lost form.

Unfortunately there aren't many examples of players whose careers go off track, who then get it back on track. Maybe Ross Barkley last season being the one surprise case.
