And I’m assessing properly after 10 games. ATM it’s looking it did last season.

What’s annoying me is the looking back at where we were a few years back. It’s ultimately irrelevant.

I’d also argue that the semi final was reasonably lucky. League One Oxford at home, bottom of the league Sheffield Weds and Maidstone pretty much meant we should have
Made the quarter final admittedly We were excellent against Wolves but that was the only game we weren’t arguably favourites

And I'd argue we were unlucky to not make the final after being denied by VAR .. what a run that would have been .

I don’t claim to know more than Robins but I certainly know more than you. I really don’t like having to play this card but having been involved (and paid) in the game at a good level I speak from experience. You just spout happy clappy shite. Even Stevie Wonder could see we needed to sign a decent midfielder
You do claim to know more with all the crap you spout though
You don't know what standard I played at but you still spout shite
I bet you were just as much of a wet wipe last season with Simms and Wright

And you still haven't stated what you'd like to happen , just keep spouting reactionary shite

We have had 2 and a half windows to improve that area, we haven’t. How is that so difficult for you to understand? Would you like me to draw you a picture seems as words don’t seem to work?
Seeing as you're such an expert you explain to the recruitment team how it's done. It's obviously so blindingly easy.
Maybe you could raid your piggy bank before you leave for school.

I agree with this.

We've got 3/4 big strikers and on the 94th minute we finally played a long ball up to Asante and Norwich looked petrified.

We have to mix it up.
We had a fair bit of joy in the first 10-15 minutes from playing it over the top for Simms to chase, or from getting Wright to run at their RB. Then steadily it reverted to type.

i’ve not read all this thread so sorry if this has been covered.

The thing that p*****s me off the most about Robins downplaying us this season..

If we flop this season, we’ll almost certainly lose Sheaf in the summer, plus most likely one of MVE/Haji or perhaps both.

Then it puts us exactly back to square one next season. Needing a huge overhaul of the squad. Likely failing to bring in players on time, same moaning about “agents and players wanting too much money”

then panic buying players, then starting shit again next season because the “players need to gel”

it will just be one endless cycle of shit😂😂

The overwhelming feeling I’ve had watching us so far this season is just that of confusion. Things felt so positive in pre-season. We were playing well, and playing some really tidy football as well. Camp seemed happy, the new coaches looked like they’d settled in well, all the talk was that we were going to aim to really push on this year and we’d be ready to attack the season. What happened in the week and a half between Everton/Werder Bremen and Stoke? It’s just so baffling how under-prepared and disorganised we’ve looked since the season actually got underway. I don’t think it’s really fair to have a pop at the fans for the expectations being too high when the expectations are high because of what the owner and manager have said, plus the gigantic investment in the squad over the past 12 months.

Well I actually defended Wright and Simms when others were giving them pelters. So you can shove that incorrect statement up your arse for a start. Most people that know me on here know I’m usually positive. However the fact we haven’t addressed the GLARING issues is disappointing. If you played the game you would be able to see this

Shut up you dickhead. You haven’t come out with one decent counter point, just ‘well thaacktually’ shite without actually making a good argument as to how I’m wrong. Spoiler alert, I’m not wrong

You know what i’ll be realistic to a point.

I had a season ticket in the league two days and we regularly spoke about how being a ‘stable championship club’ as successful.

I don’t think bust. i think probably pinning our hopes on one miracle season or miracle loan signing to push us over the line one year. But i think it would be a fluke

There’s no point talking to you is there. You’re actually thick as fuck. You and Chris can talk amongst yourselves although that conversation will be as intellectual as a chat between Forest Gump and Groot

however saying that, this year will be our best chance for a while.

next year i imagine we’ll repeat the cycle of the Leicester’s of this world, Southampton- and probably finally Everton being relegated. All 3 will likely come straight back up.

I think Burnley and Luton represent 2 of the weaker relegated sides we’ll see for a good while

You haven't come out with any decent explanation of how you would solve the problem dickhead. You haven't got a clue as to how the transfer process works . I've come out with a very valid counter view inasmuch there were obviously plenty of attempts to sign midfielders. What else do you want ? Again you haven't answered the question. Would you be prepared to sign anybody just to fill the gap regardless of whether they were suitable or not?
I've fully addressed your questions bellend.

Good one. And what does it matter what I want to happen? I want us to actually play with some fluidity and have a game plan. When half the team presses and the other half doesn’t we will be easy pickings for a half decent side, as proven today. Our midfield were largely static. They didn’t create anything at all. I said the midfield wasn’t good enough without Sheaf, it’s not that controversial

So what's the answer Einstein, sack Robins or the coaching staff or the recruitment team , I'm genuinely interested in what you think we should do to address your worries

When did I say sacking Robins was the answer? It’s not my job to come up with the solutions. As a supporter that pays to watch it’s not unreasonable to offer criticism.

How is it reactionary shite? We have played well in one game and even in that we had to rely on a dodgy back pass in the 96th minute, if you’re happy then fine, don’t let me spoil your enjoyment

I don't get why people think it's so easy to just buy who you want. We clearly tried for centre mids and failed. We don't have control over that. I'd rather we play the long game and get players we actually want and not panic buy for the sake of it. We're four games in, it's just another slow start. Once Sheaf is back we'll be fine and can then try again in Jan.
Exactly this

People expect us to buy top players on top money.
Apparently Palmer wanted 25,000/wk does anyone seriously believe he is worth any where near that.
Loved him but not at any cost.

Get a grip we are Coventry City, a club who have always sold there best players in the 55 years I have been going up, why are people angry?

Being balanced I'd say 3 goals we've conceded so far this season 2 we're deflections and 1 should have been disallowed .

Not saying we are playing well , but we aren't getting much luck either

Our Performance Director started in February. This is one of Dr Roberts' quotes, when she was interviewed by CET.
“I say this to Doug all the time, that we need to make sure that our players are the best conditioned, the best prepared, physically and mentally, for the season ahead."

Since mid-March we have been noticeably flat in our performance levels apart from a few games. It would be harsh to use the end of season downfall to judge her impact, but you would hope that we would have at least started this campaign with some energy and endeavour. However, there has just been a continuation of our end of season apathy.
Maybe in the long term, approaches and practices introduced by her will show some benefits, but performance wise it has been a decline since.
Last season our performances were questionable in the league after the Leicester win in January (apart from Leeds game).
Would be interested to know our stats post Leicester at home last season, league only.
