I've made it clear that I am a massive Vivash fan and expressed my concerns that anyone who replaced him would have to be as good if not better.
That said, the last two seasons we started really badly and that happened when Adi was here. The CBS pitch debacle didn't help two years ago. Think how our second string played against Bristol City at Burton during that time.
It is way too early to see how the team will perform this season or to start asking questions about the Manager.
A couple of weeks ago, someone said to me MR was distinctly average in his second spell with us until Adi arrived. I wonder if a statto on here could prove if that is erroneous or not, as I can't find the info.
I was always convinced he was the replacement for Robins when he leaves. Doesn’t seem likely now.

How is it reactionary shite? We have played well in one game and even in that we had to rely on a dodgy back pass in the 96th minute, if you’re happy then fine, don’t let me spoil your enjoyment
I have concerns about how we're going sure but don't resort to kneejerk shite like you
We were doing shite the last two seasons at 1st but it didn't turn out so bad
Your sort of vitriol does no-one any good and to be frank , you're a sprout that knows fk all

Being balanced I'd say 3 goals we've conceded so far this season 2 we're deflections and 1 should have been disallowed .

Not saying we are playing well , but we aren't getting much luck either
Bidwells fault for most of them, season too far for him unfortunately. Been a good steady Eddie though

I hadn't really taken into consideration what oggy and rob were saying in that he doesn't get much cover from wright like MVE gets from tatsu
No I heard that and I do appreciate that, but he’s been poor evo. Fucks me off when he tucks in so narrow, seeing some strange tactics if that’s what he’s being told to do.

I pointed out he's scored in 9 league matches.. meaning in 41 other matches he's either come on or started he's not scored in , we need more from him in the league

We do and he's got work to do.
Bassette looks a real handful and Asante looked decent against Oxford.

Frustrated me seeing Simms getting handled by Doyle today. He should be bullying players like him.

Ellis appears to be a confidence player to me. Lacking in that at the moment and frequently isolated. Can't help being substituted frequently .

Robins isn’t going to be sacked this season so let’s put that to bed.

Doug was clear he wanted 3 out of 5 in play offs at least. 2 seasons in and 1 has been achieved. So if Robins doesn’t deliver this season he has to from next.

What is disappointing is we knew we needed a decent start to have a good chance of making the play offs. We’ve again started to mess that up. So very quickly this can slip away.

Robins is notoriously a stubborn man and won’t change his mind on tactics unless forced. We clearly can’t carry on like this because our league form has been awful in 2024 in general.

Robins needs to take this international break to reflect on what to do next. He needs a new plan because the current one is a broken record.

I think that he needs to acknowledge that caution is not the way forward. The supposed strength of the squad is the attack , the midfield is generally worse than average and the jury is out on the defence. Surely we have to play at a much higher pace and press high up the pitch. I also don't subscribe to what appears to be planned substitutions. Take players off by all means if they are playing crap but this system never allows them enough time on the pitch to play themselves into form. This is a new ball game for Robins in not having to shop at Lidl for cast offs and managing players with arguably more talent is another challenge. I am interested to see what he will come up with as if this continues there are bound to be questions asked.

Wow!

After the devastation caused by the worst owners we have ever had, Richardson and Robinson, we are lucky CCFC still exists. We have no right or claim to be in the top flight. Performing well in the Championship should feel pretty good. Everything is okay at the moment and mid table respectability should be manna to the fans.

It’s been an average start to the season but oh, no, it hasn’t. It’s only been average if you have massively high expectations and somehow think that City are destined for promotion.

We aren’t. This is a competitive division and there are a dozen clubs with legit claims to be play off teams or higher.

All is good.

We appear to have 4 CBs that are all of roughly the same ability and 6 forwards who all will rightly think they should start games. Robins needs to find his best 11 and their best formation and work from there. I can see at least 3 of the team that started today not being in that strongest 11 when it's found.

I agree to a large degree but comparatively to the majority of the Championship we've spent a shed load of money.

Absolutely agree. But I think that spending has been sustainable unlike the spending that left the club 10s of millions in debt.
Absolutely and we appear to be being run on a sound financial footing. Appreciate that nothing happens overnight. Hopefully if we are in the Championship next season 2 player sales would bring in substantial funds to address the squad imbalances.

It’s frustrating when the club sells players but it’s not new. We will always be in the rebuilding stage. Next summer, City could very well face the sale of Sheaf, MVE, Wright and Simms. It’s pointless worrying about it.

On the wage note apart from Sheaf I don’t think I’d currently give any of the old guard a new contract. Want more earn it.

A new contract based on what? The captain who we get better results with when he isn't playing, and who is made of glass and misses big chunks of the season anyway.

The delusion around him is incredible. People were banging on about him being sold for 25 million, shock, didn't happen. Where are those people now? We've had a slow start to the season and he's become the pitch, the roof, and the match ball. Fucking bizarre.

I’m going to put a new slant on it. We’re verging on being a big club in this league.

4th potentially 3rd highest season ticket sales in the league, 3rd biggest transfer spend. We don’t think we’re destined for promotion - but to think midtable is acceptable is just plain wrong.

our expectations are in line with the financial backing in the club. We won’t keep getting away with starting our season 15 games after everyone else

We are 4 games into the season, last season he took expensive players to an fa cup semi final

with arguably the easiest run possible to get their

how did the season finish

In your heart of hearts. since United game how many games have we played well in?

End of the day , we are 4 games into the season and haven't played with our captain and best midfielder once in the league .

Way too early for this
Yeah. We don't seem to have adequate cover for Sheaf, but when Sheaf's back, I am sure we'll be absolutely fine.

Just got to keep him fit.

Well you get lucky if you actually attempt shots on target. BTA had a shot the other day that looped in off a deflection. Did we even have a meaningful shot at goal today? Think Haji and EMC tried a few tame efforts. Rudoni scuffed one when well placed. Simms missed 2 chances of which one he should’ve done better. Against Stoke we didn’t test the keeper at all.

Part of the problem is Ellis doesn’t inspire confidence in his teammates either. So they think “Why bother passing to him, when he’ll miss it anyway”. Supposedly big and strong, yet so timid and easily outmuscled. It’s frustrating.

Dovin didn't have a single shot to save yesterday, mind.

It’s not Devin’s fault we lost. But we still lost even if it was due to an unlucky deflected attempt from point blank range. Getting into good positions and getting shots on target matter.

I back Robins all the way, but if it wasn't for Wrights last second goal against Oxford then it would stand at:
P:4 W:0 D:2 L:2
Hardly an average start.
Robins needs an Offsider quick. We can't expect him to carry the burden of 3/5 top six in next 5 years on his own. That's not realistic. Whatever you think of AV, he shared the burden.

His lovers are probably worse. Absolutely silent for months on end when he played shit, but are first to pull the wagging finger now we've started the season slow and can safely make sensionalist comments now he isn't here.

I defended him when he was playing badly because I think people underestimated the affect of his injury.
Of course no one can prove either way that that was the reason behind his poor form
But O'Hare at his worse was still light years, ahead of anything that midfield had to offer yesterday.

This simply isn’t true is it.

None of our players when they have a poor day are light years ahead of the rest, including COH.

COH at his best was better than Eccles and Torp at their best but at his worst he was also totally ineffective. There is a reason why COH is still in the championship despite being available on a free and it’s not because he’s light years ahead of the average championship midfielder.

I didn't compare him to the average championship midfielder, I compared him to our midfield 2nd half yesterday. They were several notches below average.
