Stuart Armstrong is available on a free I believe..not sure if he's still injured though?
Does he have injury/attitude problems or something? Seems weird for a 25 year old who was once highly thought of at Brighton to be without a club this late. There’s got to be mid/lower La Liga or Serie A clubs who’d take him, unless he’s just dropped off massively.Steven Alzate
This is the question, isn't it. Can anything be done to restructure. I've no idea on that side of things, but it's a question you ask yourself. However, fully agreed with how the long term finances are being protected.Wonder if we can re look at the wage structure. Feels painful to miss out on key players if there slightly over an arbitrary limit. Happy the club are being responsible however with the long term finances.
As well as sell on values of talent we have we also still have Gyokeres and Hamer sell ons in the background. But the question stands - if you aren’t going to break wage structures the amount of cash you have is less of a factorThis is the question, isn't it. Can anything be done to restructure. As much as some people don't like it, we are making some smart moves. There's definitely potential profit in some of these signings, with the right development, we have more than one Hamer / Gyokeres type player on our hands. We are not in a position to be signing finished articles yet (imo).
I do feel that we should have picked up a more experienced head / free agent to bridge the gap in midfield, until we can land the type player we are after. Again, it's what wage they would demand and what length of contract.
Agreed. You'd like to think as we continue to grow, that it's something that will be integrated at a faster pace.As well as sell on values of talent we have we also still have Gyokeres and Hamer sell ons in the background. Good things happening for a shit clubHamer’s unlikely now I’d say, if he was ever going to move it would have been in the summer. Sheffield United will be challenging back to PL and he’d only attract a club going down.
Well... that's clearly not what I said now is it. I merely suggested that the club might want to consider how damaging the odd unreliable transfer rumour is. Transfer hype is part of the football experience - the information space is an important part of keeping fans hooked. Transfer deadline day is generally an exciting time. It was pretty flat on here on Friday and that has carried over.Yes let them go all out information, give step by step updates on who they want, how much etc just to appease some fans who cant cope with not knowing. If you genuinely beleive they didnt go after a midfielder, even after what Jimmy and others have said, then i despair. Transfers take time. If you had your way we would sign any oold shite player just to fill yourr quota. What happens then is fans like you maon how shite they are and we start all over again.
Robins said that we went after a young premier league player on loan, but it fell through at the last moment due to an injury.Bogarde started for Villa at RB today so we can safely say that wasn’t one of the players.
Conflicted because it really does feel like 2020 minus Hamer. But can see sense to get some leadership and know how into the centre of the park

People have been crying out for leadership regardless of their quality all summer.I know James played 40 games for Bristol last season but it smacks of desperation for me.
Another body and experience maybe, but I don't consider him any better than Eccles.
I get the feeling that Robins wasn’t being truthful when he said Sheaf would possibly be back for Watford.
He’s not any better than Eccles. But imagine if Eccles got injured at the moment - we’d be in dire straits. Adds great experience as well.I know James played 40 games for Bristol last season but it smacks of desperation for me.

Didn’t someone say we were talking to him in the summer but Doug said no to the idea?
He's just gone to Canada.Just realised @Jimmy87 liked this...
