The more I think about it the more I’m convinced that it’s the training and set up that’s causing us to perform poorly. Something’s just not right at Ryton, there’s no clear play style or clear plan B for when teams hurt us in a particular way. It’s all very reactionary, players seem to be lost at times and don’t understand their roles.

When it boils down to it, I can only lay the blame at Robins and the management, and personally I’m now in the camp of give him until Christmas and assess from there. If results pick up then I’ve got no worries in sticking with him but if not then something will need to change at some point.

Get a grip!

When did you start supporting us? What on earth would you have been like in the Venus/ Slade and League 2 years?

we could have been 2-0 up at half time Saturday, would have been a totally different game,we played ok, first half fine margins, and we were loads better when sheaf came on the other night, take the captain and playmaker out of any team and their fans would be having the same conversations we are, judge them when sheaf finally comes back, we’ll be fine

Played 6. Won 3, drew 1, lost 2. Be real.

Lucky to draw the Bristol game and won against teams expected to be in the bottom half, and even those wins were not exactly comfortable. As soon as we came up against a consistent top half team in Norwich we were poor. Not sure how you’re drawing many positives from our performances so far.

Hence why I said “let’s assess at Christmas” and “I’ve no worries in sticking with Robins if things turn around”. It’s been 4 league games, it’s clearly way too early to call for Robins to leave but if we’re still performing this poorly by Christmas then something will have to change.

At what point would you change the manager? When we’re in the bottom 3 with 10 games to go? I’m not saying things will get that bad but with the squad we’ve got we should be aiming for top 6 as a minimum. It’s been 4 games but we really should not be playing this badly, it was a proper poor show the other day, nearly 30,000 fans and absolutely nothing to show for it.

Why is it you find ways to excuse our wins but never acknowledge that the same may apply to the losses? Let’s be honest we were as good as Stoke and Norwich and could easily have won one. There will be many teams happy to come out of Bristol with a point. Everyone can see it’s not quite clicking at the moment, but we’re accumulating points. That’s normally a trait good sides have.

Because it’s Stoke and Bristol City you’re talking about, not Burnley or Leeds. Yes we were as good as Stoke but that’s not good enough, we need to be better than them. Stoke haven’t finished in the top half of the table since they were relegated, that’s how poor they’ve been, and Bristol consistently finish around mid-table. If we want promotion these are the sorts of teams we need to beat, not lose and draw to them, that’s why I’m critical of us.

Yes we’re accumulating some points but we’re sitting in 17th, there’s already an 8 point gap to top and it’s only been 4 games. What I’m not saying is “Robins out”, I’m saying let’s have 15+ games and then we can have a proper conversation about whether we’re going in the right direction or not. I think as the season progresses we will pick up our performances as we always tend to, but if not then I think the option to look at alternatives should be discussed.

Read an article calling a player having controlled grit.
I thought that was our problem a lack of grit. However, Sheaf, Lati, MVE, Bidwell, Eccles, Thomas all demonstrate controlled grit. Kitch definately has grit but is not always controlled. The same for Binks who has three yellows already.
JDS, Allen, Tavares and Tatsu all get stuck in but their lack of physicality hampers them. Torp fluctuates with his tackling and Rudoni looks lightweight when getting stuck in. Haji Wright can put himself about when he is in the mood and Bassette looks quite prepared to throw his weight about. Simms needs to get more physical and has improved to a degree in that respect. BTA and EMC need to up their tackling in the opposition half.
Think our tactics are not working at present, but that may just be bedding in a new system.
Onwards and upwards.
So what you're saying is we need Rooster Cogburn in midfield?

I don't think we were as good as Stoke tbh.
