I have zero issues with King. I do still think it's a bit odd though.

Same, I don't have any issues with Doug King and it looks like he's done a great job so far from an outside perspective.
Do think the squad photo should be just for the squad and playing staff (same with the end of season lap of honour), but it's not something I'm overly bothered about.

Never really been keen on singing the name of a football club owner either, but again can see why people do it

There are many things to do with football and life in general that are odd but we don’t all start threads on them ….

People mainly object to threads when they have an issue with the subject matter. I don't think anyone is having a go at King or diminishing what he has done for CCFC. People, like me, are simply pointing out that it's a bit, well, odd. Nothing more.

No real issue. Would’ve been worrying, yet not surprising, if weirdo Will was in it though.

It is a bit odd to be honest. The photo is players and back room staff. But unless he starts picking the team I wouldn’t read too much into it!

A couple of years ago we had a fantastic manager who had assembled a fantastic team that had us a penalty shootout away from the premier league.

We now have an owner who has sold those fantastic players, taken power from that fantastic manager and has assembled an unbalanced mess of a squad.
I’ll bite, we still have the manager. Regardless of where we finished that squad was a lot more unbalanced. If hamer or Gyok got injured that year we would have been lucky to finish where we did. Not to mention without loans we didn’t even have a back three.

While the squad hasn’t kicked on yet (how many games have been played) it’s the most club have ever spent. The manager seems to support the changes and I’m confused what you mean sold those fantastic players. We had in essence zero choice not to sell either considering the amount on offer. Madness to suggest Doug should have forced both to play their last year and leave for nothing.

Not sure on this one;
I have been involved at clubs where the chairman signed players without the knowledge of the manager, came into the changing room to tell the manager that certain players couldn't play as they were too expensive for the budget that week on a number of occasions. If the he tried to get into a team photo, the players and staff would be fuming.
He never did.
On the other hand, I have been involved at another club where the Chairman was integral to the Club's growth, was present at all levels of the club in a supportive role.
Fully backed the manager and looked to support things to take the club further.
Looked after all staff and players every way he could and sanctioned bonuses (and delivered!) for player/team performance.
Players/Fans/staff respected this man very much.
If he wanted to get into the team photo, he would have been welcomed with open arms.
He never did.

So not sure why DK is on this...

He already does, explains the absence of Thomas and Kitching!

My personal view is that it's a bit odd and id prefer it to be just the coaching staff and team. It could be a sign that he is a bit too hands on, but not sure that we are seeing any actual evidence of that so far so no need to get too het up about it.

If he wants to larp as our missing midfielder and it doesn't do any harm who cares?

I'm not sure tbh were they MR,Adi signings?
Same as Lati and Binks then?. If your looking at it through the eyes of the owner, we spent the most money out the four on them on Kitching, he’s the one we would want to start the most to put him in the window shop.

We're discussing the suitability of our owner having the biggest record of being associated with our football club....

I think that is a good sign it's in a squad photo, rather than from court papers like during SISU. I think we're going in the right direction.

In the photo Robins looks the same height as King so maybe it isn't him. Could it be one of the youth players wearing one of those Doug Masks?!

Listened to the Nii Lampty podcast episodes recently and one of them, not the latest one i dont think but the one before, started with Imogen saying people are just miserable and not happy unless they have something to moan about, and because they have nothing to moan about now they are actually even more miserable.

amazing summary, people need to get a life

I mean that’s a literal contradiction in terms but ok

One photo that had me and my mate howling was a photo in The Pink of the bench at Selhurst Park, maybe , early to mid ninety's I think. (My memory's terrible so I might be wrong on the ground)

It named all the players and coaching staff on the bench, on the end was the coach driver who they named as well!

He had more right to be on the bench than Ken Dulieu, at least he had "Coach" in his job title.

It's not anything new to be fair...I don't see an issue with the owner being in this years team photo.
True, but you've had to go back 50 years to find one.

Owners that had us playing in Northampton and Birmingham was bad enough, but this really is a step too far.
