You are living in the past I think. Anyone under the age of about 30 isn't going to remember us being in the top flight and playing teams like this regularly.
There's also no guarantee we'll ever get there again either.

I'm going to all 3 but if I had to give one a miss it would be Spurs anyday. Watford is a 3pm Saturday kick off, so can make a day of it and it will be fun regardless of the result.
The Spurs game is a Wednesday, which is always more of a pain, going after work and with work the next day; the levels of enjoyment are based solely on if I see a good game or not. Sure, the £30 becomes well worth it if it's a good game of football, or we get a result, but if not it will feel like a waste of money and time to then be tired at work the next day. There isn't even a novelty factor, as it's likely to only be Spurs reserves in a competition no one cares about until the semi final.

I doubt anyone is losing sleep but there wouldn't be multiple songs in football about 'Shit support', 'empty seats' etc.
All I'm saying is it's clearly a part of football, especially for younger fans.
If it's the same ones getting excited over people like that thogden and other gimps then they really don't count.

Shame you don't see this as a big occasion.
Fine disagreeing with the price but you don't need to knock it. As I've said, it's the first top 6 club since Chelsea we are playing at home in any competition.

Man United away in 2008 (yes before anyone says it Man United are bigger than Spurs etc) is a game constantly looked back on by fans as one of the best days they've had following Coventry.
That was in the League Cup 3rd round..

People are just giving reasons why ticket sales are slow. Pricing and a certain amount of indifference to the fixture. I wish it was going to be a full house, it would be rocking, but any prospect of that went out of the window when prices were announced. It's a shame, but it's what it is.

Only 8 years and well within the supporting lives of most who went to the game.
No one I knew or went with thought "oh it's the biggest club in the world", it was just a big allocation at a ground we;d all seen city play at before.

Well it's clearly not capturing the imagination of Coventry public.
Now that's got to be down to one of two things, or perhaps a combination of both.
It's not the attractive tie some are making out or the pricing is,wrong.
If it eventually hits a crowd of 27/28k then my assumption will be wrong and I'll come on this thread and say so.

I think this probably is an age thing. I certainly see Spurs as a big club. Nowhere near Man United, Liverpool, Arsenal etc but at the next tier down. They have one of the best new stadiums in the country, have regularly played in Europe and have/had some very notable recent players. It's a big draw for me regardless of the competition or round.
I'd hope you can understand that in the same way I do understand it's maybe less attractive if you have actually watched us play them regularly at some point.

It's a good draw , the main point is it's not sold out or looking likely , some seem to be struggling with it
Man Utd and Arsenal in the league cup were away days, a day out, day off work, the chance to be part of massive followings (far bigger than league allocations). We're talking about a home tie, it hasn't the same attraction and is just another night as the CBS where a full house is now not unusual. It's pricey and it's Spurs, people just aren't foaming at the prospect. There is no mystery here.

We've also had a lot more bigger games in recent years then we did around the time of the two league cup games you've mentioned.
Big days out used to be few and far between.

Some good points but surely it's not just another night at the CBS.
The more this gets spun, the more it will put people off paying the money.
A day will come that we will play home games in the Premier League and Spurs at home will be a Cat A game.

Yep, 4 Wembley trips since then, playoff semis, hugely important league fixtures, we've not been starved of big occasions.
I recall the Stoke game in the fa cup, what was the crowd, 14K with 11K of us? Yes, it was Stoke, but it was a PL side and 3pm on a Saturday. Fast forward to Brighton away and a mad scramble for tickets. Away cup ties have a much bigger pull.
