I think a lot of that comes from the fact we have 'premier league package' season tickets, loads of noises from Doug and Robins pre season about 'giving it a real go' and making sure we 'start this season properly' yet what we've actually got Is 5 points from 5 games (far from the most difficult run of fixtures we will have this year) no midfield, and 3 halves out of 10 (Oxford + Today) where we've looked a coherent unit.

I've learnt my lesson on panic buttons and I'm far from pressing it, but I think people need to look at the cold hard facts of our start.

We will turn it around I'm sure, but I think 3 seasons on the spin now where we've not got out the blocks wears thin when promises are made 🤷‍♂️

Buying a PL package never did and never will guarantee promotion.

I don’t think it’s entitled, it’s pretty much what Saddle said - DK, and by association MR and the club, have said we’re going to do something, built up that expectation, but then not necessarily actually followed that up by their actions to date
With respect they said we will give it a go .. we are 41 games short of the end

Saying you will give it a go isn't saying we will win the league and get promoted

I mean it does tend to point to the fact that you're aim is promotion no?

No other club in the championship has such a ticket

You cannot do that, say the things said pre season, and then be surprised when people are pretty peeved at having no midfield and 5 points from 5, on paper, pretty decent games

As I say, I think we'll turn it around, when Sheaf comes back he can hopefully stay injury free until at least January, and he will I'm sure be the missing link, and the wins will flow

I'm just saying people can't sit and take the moral high ground about fans expectations when the club themselves have been banging that tune for a while now 🤷‍♂️

To be fair we are only 3 windows into a massive rebuild after losing 2 of the best players we've had in the last 20 years .
Personally I think it's the money spent and the players price tags that have raised expectations among some . It doesn't always guarantee success and I'd much rather a pragmatic owner than an erratic one .
This season's transfer window , the way it ended , has added to the frustration amongst some as well

We haven't got " no midfield " ?
We are a player short FFS

For me it’s more frustration. We’ve known there was an issue when we sold Hamer. We still haven’t replaced him, and for the 3rd season running we’re starting our season 10 games in.

last 2 seasons we’ve been going at top 6 form… after game 15. I think there’s a real chance here and the worry is, after this season it’s likely MVE, Sheaf and possibly Wright go.

we’re going to back at stage one bemoaning a new squad rebuild taking time to gel.

Expected to come on here after a decent away point where people expected us to lose to see some decent reactions.

nah just the usual knobheads moaning
It's becoming a bit of a problem tbh , loads of divs on twitter all feeding off each other's negativity , loads of divs on here all pretending that a point Watford is a bad thing because we missed 3 great chances .

Wether some agree or not , there's a massive amount of entitlement amongst fans atm

Definitely. I think we all wanted a rise again this year but at the end of the day, though wanted, is not required by the management.

Exactly this, we have poor starts because weve never started a season without any problems, , Palmer going on the last day leaving us short and our best player and captain missing, cant really judge us after 5 games, I’m just happy to be talking about our league position instead of who’s ground we’re going to be playing at, we’ve come a long way in a short time,

But again, I'd say it's not entitlement it's expectations

Expectations created directly from the club, the money spent, the prem packages, the soundbites from both Doug and Robins

And we've manged 1 win out of Oxford, Stoke, Watford, Bristol City and Norwich

We will face a lot better than them 5 over the course of the season.

There are 16-18000 new fans that have brought into it since we fucked Sisu off

They have brought into it off the back of expectation..nowhere to be seen 3 or 4 years ago. That's the issue for me, not entitlement

The prem package never said we will be promoted.. it always a gamble

Our wages are not top 6 and the money spent is around 7th highest .

The expectations are being driven by fans mostly .
The manager and doug king will always say they will give it a go and I'm sure we will ..it's game 5 of 46

yeah I agree, and that’s fair - to be clear I’m fairly relaxed at the minute other than slightly frustrated at not adding to the midfield, but like I’ve said it has still increased expectation amongst fans, and some will believe that, to date, for one reason or another (lack of spend, lack of planning in the transfer window, no loans, no free agents, slow start etc…) we aren’t actually giving it a go, or at least as much of a go as the owner / club have suggested we were going to

we won’t win every game, although again to date we haven’t had the most difficult of fixtures, and to be serious about a top six / top 2 finish you need to be picking up more points against teams like that really, but either way it’s just been a bit flat to date, which I’m sure will change after a couple of decent 90 minute performances and a few wins

I suppose if you want an analogy, it’s a bit like saying I want to win the lottery, but then not buying a ticket

You are fucking clueless, stick to NFL you American bellend
its a public forum where everyone is free to voice their opinions. No need to criticize fellow posters if you don’t agree or don’t like what I say. I wish the team was as fired up as you to silence their critics.

Still waiting for a complete performance over 90 mins, but it was a little better today than versus Norwich or Stoke or Bristol C for sure. definitely should have scored a second when they were well on top in the first half. Trying to hang onto a slender lead when we haven’t kept a clean sheet in forever is frustrating. Second half belonged to Watford and we should have made changes sooner to stem the flow of attacks on our goal.

Anyway 5 points from 5 games is a poor return no matter how you look at it. They promised us to start fast and lined up all those tough preseason matches, made all those coaching hires, sleep therapist etc. Obviously we as fans would be pumped up and expect more than what we’ve seen so far. Not being able to get a single midfielder either as a perm signing, loan or free agent is another thing that’s exasperating.

Said it for a while now . Wonder if it's the newer fans as most of the fan base around my age (early 50s) seem more pragmatic about things
Perhaps partly the new intake of fans, but the chairman himself has set his stall out and an enormous amount has been spent.

Expectations will naturally be higher than the years we were scraping a team together

Does seem a bit of a same old start, this game was probably the hardest out the lot and it’s the best we’ve played and should of won, but Your spot on, these new fans prob expect a bit more than the ones have been through all the shit years, just need to be a bit patient but think the club haven’t helped either, but to be fair theyv’e only ever said we’re aiming for play offs and we won’t be far off this season

Btw I don't particularly agree with the prices of the game against spurs etc .. but for some fans to boo the doug king song today shows how many little weirdos we have following us .

They deserve sisu

Was that why they were booing? While they had paid £35 for a ticket at Watford?

Don't get me wrong, I've always said the song is weird.

Booing because certain fans have created an agenda against Doug because they have to pay £30 against a European side Wednesday and can't afford to pay big bucks for a box.
