This gets rubbished a lot on here but I can assure you you've hit the nail on the head.

Every international break regardless of the result, Kelly and Fadz made sure they all went for a meal and a few drinks. Each break, without fail.

Godden would arrange golf days, and to his credit O'Hare would always be game for being the one to help arrange shit

Notice the club released the vid last year of the 'team bonding' evening? It doesn't happen anymore. There is no 'you run through a brick wall for your team mate' mentality.

Whatever players like Kelly, Godden, Fadz were limited in with their play, they kept dressing rooms together, they were the link between the younger players and the management, they were the ones who would set the example

I cannot stress enough just how much we are missing that kind of mentality at the minute
For years Robins got this club to punch above its weight and humble more expensively assembled teams by getting the squad really well drilled and spending what money we did have wisely. Yes once or twice a season you'd get an aberration, but they were just once or twice a season and exceptions to the norm-for the most part, teams had to work hard to get results against us.

This season and last there were plenty where it was just too easy to beat a Robins team. I praise Doug for reinvesting every penny of the transfer receipts back into new signings, but he's forgotten what all our success up to this point was built on. Signing an Alan Browne might not make you millions in profit down the line, but they're worth a huge amount to the squad in different respects.

There's a reason why Stoke do what they do every year despite spending big

If Robin’s had control and authority this wouldn’t happen. All over the pitch they were arguing today from early on- Allen had a strop before going off ‘injured’. Wright clearly not interested and stropping hence his exit. What a mess. Needs a leader.

I think robins had viveash for that and as stated fadz kelly etc .

As shmmeee says we probably need a proper number 2

Think I’d be happier reading that new manager and staff were coming in.

Seems hopeless based on this reading. Unless Doug and Mark get rid of two staff and hire an assistant, don’t know how the coach POV gets better. Doubt Doug walking in like the Texas ranger will help morale.

And then disappointed a bit with the older gen. Would be expecting Sheaf to pick this up and then hearing Eccles say as Captain he doesn’t say anything to the team just makes you realise the lack of leadership.

I know it’s not hopeless but just don’t know the way through think that’s why new manager suggestions come in as it’s a way to clean the board and start anew.

Saddle if you know is there any talk behind the scenes of solutions or is it just players going after players and coaches they don’t seem to show any effort or are shite.

Been considering it, and all I can think to say is this. The robins out debate really illicits confusion in me at the moment to be honest. I have always been Robins in (and remain so) but something needs to change regarding our form since probably january if we’re being honest. However although I believe things must improve i’m not remotely convinced getting rid of Robins would improve things. Regardless of the (considerable) credit in the bank, a new manager would be a big change for the players and the club, taking some adjustment, meaning it could go either way I believe. Basically, I don’t know what to think about the cause of these sorts of spineless performance, but I don’t think sacking Robins will make things better. As always, keep the faith, a comment it seems a lot of you need tonight

Makes sense why Robbins was so keen on signing Matty James. A lot of people on here talking about Robins being sacked but would it be such a surprise if Robins was to walk, he can’t be happy with DK’s transfer policy leaving us without any leadership

Another thing is that our home form has been shocking for a couple of season now. We’ve lost at home to Swansea, Norwich, Cardiff, Preston, Ipswich, Hull and QPR within the last 6 or so months and since the start of last season we’ve also failed to beat Norwich again, Huddersfield, Swansea again, Bristol City, Stoke, Watford, Sunderland etc.

Any team who has serious aspirations in this league can’t be as poor at home as we are. And frustratingly it’s often the same story where we just don’t seem to be able to cope when teams come to the CBS, press us and get a bit physical/start managing the game. Swansea’s game plan today really wasn’t very different from Preston’s way back in February when we lost 3-0 and we appear to have learnt nothing.

He worked under SISU but he'd flounce off in a hissy because Doug gave him £40 million plus, but not Matty James?

I can't explain it better than they are just at loggerheads or can't be arsed

The only real 'friendship group ' now within the squad is Rudoni, Milan, Tavares, Sheaf, Eccles

The 'Barnsley boys' as they're known couldn't give a shiny one and haven't since they joined.

I'm gonna shutup now because I will start sounding like a bitchy little Karen with a vendetta against certain players (like I apparently have one with Doug)

All really is not well and it's not like last season where players were bedding in, finding their feet etc this is more off field, and I can only see it ending with Robins carrying the can

The scouts have to take some responsibility here. And maybe Bassette was also signed because he does seem to have some form of proper mentality, if a little petulant. But can you really not find players with a winning mentality and leadership who are under 25?

When we look at the effect that players like fadz had on young lads around them it's obvious every team needs a leader and an older head .. the great united team full of kids had older heads mixed in .

Look at the effect fadz had on callum Doyle , dom hyam etc , he actively helped make them better players

We’ve had the same this season too. Eccles was saying pre-season that we were planning on playing exciting, front footed stuff this season. Hasn’t materialised at all and if anything we’re playing some of worst football since we’ve come up.

It just feels a little bit like the ‘Robins era’ is starting to crumble and we’re becoming one of those sides full of mediocre players who were bought for way too much, playing poor football and not getting results. The team spirit seems to have fallen off a cliff, as has the attitude within games. It is only 6 games in and it’s easy to catastrophise when you’re on a bad run and act like you’ll never win again, but god it’s just so depressing at the moment. I can’t remember a season I was more excited for than this one. Really thought we’d be up in the top six all season, playing well most week and it would be enjoyable to watch. No idea what’s happened to this team since pre-season, but hopefully we can turn it around.

My concern is exactly that. Possibly we have spunked the only real money we've had for years on some decidedly average players. Now we are back to being skint again 😝

If they keep performing like this there's certainly a concern that some would have been at their peak value the summer just gone and may not hit it again.

Plus we sold players cos they were better off in League 1 level yet spent 10 million on league 1 players

You can see that on the pitch there’s no communication from the players, no snarl and no bite.

There’s a reason MR isn’t playing Kitching and ditched Colllins so attitude sounds about right.

Adi was a presence on the sidelines but the new coaches don’t seem to be offering anything.

If players feel they can shout back at the staff after that performance then something has to give.

Did MR want this coaching setup or has it been forced upon him? If he did then he is responsible; if it was Doug and the performance director then they are going to have a big decision to make.

Maybe, as it’s been said by many on here he seemed to have full control under Sisu and whilst it was a cluster fuck off the pitch, he generally had a squad pulling together and playing for him. If it’s true that the squad are divided and at loggerheads with the coaching team and Robins feels like he can’t fix it would you be shocked if he did walk ?

Nothing regarding Robins, it's mainly the players.

Few home truths told, certain players (rightly) calling out the bollockless ones, certain coaches basically being told by players that they haven't a fucking clue
Interesting re players telling coaches they haven't got a clue.....
Can't think who has the character to do that ..
Thomas? Kitching?? .....Sheaf!???

I'd say this type of thing is a bit of a worry.....

He understood why Adi went (still dont know what it was) so was fine with it, but he was under the impression Adi would be replaced

Not 17 people replacing him. So I'd say no, he didn't want it

They’re snarling at each other on the pitch. Mostly the players doing their jobs snarling at the ones who aren’t, and they’ve every right.

I do know this is all valid knowing a golfer or two at Stratford. Is this why Sheaf is rushed back too soon and MVE is clearly knackered? To shallow an outfit when a cup run interjects and we can’t cope and all our weaknesses are exposed. Pressure too much all around.

You said because of Dougs transfer policy. I think there are many managers that would happily try and work with that policy tbh, he's spent money many in this league would kill for.
So for the reason you originally stated, yes I'd be surprised. Generally speaking I guess I wouldn't be that surprised right now.
