Seems to be a growing consensus on here that Trump is right about wanting drug dealers executed. Worked well in the Philippines I guess.

Twitter is very weird right now. Lots of right wing accounts posting videos of Harris saying fairly anodyne politician stuff and going “What is this crazy lady on about!?!? 🤪

TBH just increases my belief that most right wing support is built around lack of reading comprehension.

Of course the best bit starts around 20 mins when they feature Cackling Kamala's word salad nonsense.
Hilarious but what an airhead.
Have you ever heard Trump speak!?

In fact, go and find a transcript of a Trump speech and just read it. Tell me it's not word salad. It's so bad you can't even call him an airhead because the space between his ears is so empty it must be a complete vacuum.

What's pathetic is 'endorsment' of a politician. The whole concept is like nominating a best friend at a child's birthday party.

Like I said, I don't care for either of them, but you're a streamlining Guardian articles onto here without really thinking them through. These 'agents' endorsing Harris have no right to lecture the public on anything. You do realise they're the same ones that came out and made a public statement about Hunter Biden's laptop being false and that it was all a 'Russian Campaign'? It then of course turned out to be true all along, and they've got very little credibility left.

It really isn't an 'ouch' mate. It might sound great but it won't make one bit of difference, and these people are playing right into Trump's hands.

You don't want to endorse a politician, yet here you are on a political thread, complaining every time someone says something critical about Trump. C'mon now, it's obvious where your sympathies lie, I can't believe you won't man up and admit it. If it really doesn't bother you, why are you even commenting?

As for all of those 700 signatories being part of some pro-Biden conspiracy, there were literally nine of them. Nine out of 700. That's the most Fox News, who lean towards Trump of course, could find.

Are all of the others Hunter Biden conspirators too? That's your smoking gun here? Try harder.

Here's the key phrase in that letter by the 700, by the way;

'Mr Trump is the first president in American history to actively undermine the peaceful transfer of power, the bedrock of American democracy'.

Anything in that statement you'd disagree with?

Unfortunately you are so far up the arse of your own politics that you don't see the bigger picture. Anyone that disagrees with you is a Trump supporter, and anyone that agrees with you is correct, no matter the state of play, what they're saying, or who it came from.

I don't like either party, but I cannot see how the moral highground can be taken on democracy by a bunch of people who lied in the last election about something that was obviously quite significant to the American people. It doesn't matter if it was one, nine, or ninety of them - if it was the other way round you would be screaming foul and there's no way you would be listening to it. The same will apply here.

I can accept not thinking either of them are that good, but they’re not equally as bad. Plus you keep making a point about democracy when Trump has admitted interfering in the last election and the Republicans are openly trying to manipulate the outcome in Texas, Georgia and Nebraska in this current cycle.

And this is already in a country where you can get more votes than your opponent but still not become president.

Let's talk then, about the "moral highground" on democracy. Which of the candidates tried to overturn a free and fair election?

This opinion of yours that they're both as bad as each other, isn't really backed up by facts on this (rather important) point is it?

The man's own words.

Who needs a 'crooked media' to expose him when he comes out with this kind of rubbish entirely unprompted.

Women will be free under Trump, and won't have to think about abortion (unless of course they live in one of the states where it will be in effect, illegal).

Also he will stop Democrats executing babies (which of course, is an absolute lie which he is determined to repeat).

Of course, Harris is just as bad on women's rights, because... (awaits ESB to provide balance). :)

His brain has been fried after years of indulging in right and far right social media circles. Oh, and so has Trump’s.

You are both self-confessed leftists. You can't see the bigger picture from a neutral perspective at all, and you cannot lecture me or other people when you cannot articulate a middle ground on these things in the first place.

I told you, I don't care about either of them. It just looks weak when you try to make that as an argument or throw silly comments like 'what are you even on about'. It isn't constructive. Just because I am not on your side doesn't mean I am on the side of Trump either. I am fully able to see what is going on from a bigger picture, but you don't question any of it. Only the stuff that suits your argument.

I'm not interested in 'tit for tat' - both the options at the ballot box in the USA are shite. End of.

Your main problem seems to be with the media reporting what Trump says.

Not at all. They can report what he says. They can fact check what he says as well. However, it should be applied fairly across the political spectrum, which it isn't.
You don’t suppose all the bat shit crazy things he spouts every time he opens his mouth has anything to do with the balance?

Let’s face it, he very clearly needs facts checking far more than the rest of the political spectrum simply because he has bullshit Tourette’s, he can’t open his mouth without doing it. If you consider that then surely there’s nothing unfair about it at all. Maybe he should just stick to facts.

Both options might be shite, but as yet you've still only complained about Trump being treated unfairly.

You can disparage my politics all you like, but everything I've posted here is based on facts. As indeed is most of the criticism hereabouts regarding Trump.

Rather than this constant whine about unfairness and lefties, why not challenge the facts?

If you can 'see the complete picture', because of your apparent neutrality, share it with us mate. Back it up with some facts though otherwise it's just an incoherent rant. So here's your chance, make your case.

Let's start with something simple - based on the facts which of the candidates is less shite on respecting democracy would you say, Trump or Harris?

You really aren't getting it are you? I have shared my opinion several times, and you aren't capable of understanding it. When you are so one sided with your views you don't have the ability to see things from a level playing field. You've proved that when the best argument you could deliver was 'well you must be a Trump voter'.

For the last time: Trump voters will not care about the same people who lied about the Hunter Biden laptop trying to lecture them on politics. Harris voters will not care about the lack of fact checking in the debate (something that you have proven, and if you were such a man of cold hard facts, would have called out). Most normal people in the middle recognise both candidates are shit, and they won't listen to you lecture them on politics either. That's literally as far as it goes. Good luck.

I'm not calling US voters out on the facts mate, I'm calling you out on them.

You keep coming up with how unfair it all is to Trump, but other than some vague conspiracy theory about how Hunter Biden's laptop discredits 700 national security personnel, you've deliberately avoided anything factual and just complained any time someone highlights something that discredits Trump.

I'm afraid you're just one of those people who is absolutely convinced they are right, or that everyone else is wrong, but when it comes to actually justifying their beliefs, just hides behind "you wouldn't understand".

You seem to claim that they're both the same, but then won't answer specific questions on exactly how.

Your beliefs are your beliefs mate, but don't pretend they're based on a superior knowledge of the issues if you can't or won't engage on the specifics.

Saying both candidates are shit is fine, but it seems to be a way of excusing the fact that one is way, way shitter than the other.

Well that's the thing. It's fine to pick up on anything Harris does that doesn't make sense or is a little controversial. I am sure we could pretty much all accept that.

Harris isn't the one though making a series of almost daily, insane comments and he's been doing it for years. Drinking bleach, wanting to buy Greenland, Obama's birth certificate, giving praise out to the likes of the Proud Boys, The Harris is now saying she's black stuff, the eating pets etc, etc, etc

It would literally take all day to list all the crazy things that come out of Donald Trump's mouth.

There is just no comparable to be found. It's fine to look for balance and that is always something I am seeking myself in news. But the volume of nonsense that comes out of Trump's mouth and his endless, ranting,"tweets", will obviously always result in more scorn being poured on him than on his opponent.

I actually believe Earlsdon when he says he doesn’t rate either candidate. He would clearly choose Trump if he had to go for one of them, but in an ideal world I suspect he’d rather have someone even more mental, even more hard right, and even more racist & prejudiced.

What's funny is how much we are going round in circles because some people cannot think critically or without bias. Look at the politics thread with all the Starmer stuff. Outrage when it's not your preferred candidate, nonchalance and excuses when it is.

There's less shit coming out of Harris' mouth, partly because that's what the media are telling you. I've made this point over and again, but it isn't going in. She's said absolutely loads of stupid things, and some of those things she said during the debate were allowed to go for free. They weren't fact-checked. How is that balanced or fair? 67 million people watched that debate, so you cannot sit there and suggest it's simply just Trump being more of an idiot when it isn't a level playing field.

Now, for clarity Trump definitely is an idiot, and he does say a lot of shit. However, if it is really that bad then let him hang himself. The holier-than-thou attitude for Harris is quite short-sighted and as I have said many times on here will probably play into Trump's favour.

Trump lying about immigrants eating animals has led to threats of violence, it needs calling out at the time. Harris telling lies, if they are, should also be corrected.
