Is this some sort of "insult Doug King so he sells" thread by someone who hates City?
It's bad enough listening to the know all's who know F... all about MR.
Not at all, I like Doug, was just posting the article because I found it interesting, it also shows his net worth is more than the Brentford owner if you care to read it

When he first came on the scene a few people tried to make out he had very little wealth, based on the fact that his annual accounts weren’t impressive. But he has multiple companies, all connected, you have to do an hit of digging but they’re all doing very well- more than I thought but it’s not a huge surprise really.

It's American owners in football that concern me the most

I do think this shows what a seriously impressive character Doug is. It was sort of played down at the time of the sale with the impression he was some sort of bumpkin who had done well out of reprocessing rapeseed oil out of some sheds in Stratford.

Especially when you compare it to the SISU fund which just seemed to bumble along without a huge sense of purpose or results .

He has learned to run a football club very quickly and clearly is interested in maximising his return on investment. What this means for Robins is probably ominous if the required success doesn’t come. He certainly isn’t afraid of making a decision and is a lot more hands on than I thought he would be.

Or did he just get lucky betting on Red when everyone else was banking on Black…?

Talk about learning from mistakes as well haha.

Still think Doug King has no interest in football, and is hoping for a quick promotion and re-sale.
Obviously no complaints from me if we manage it and things seem to be running quite well at the moment off the pitch, but he's not owning and helping out the club out of the kindness of his heart.

It's why I've never been a fan of the singing of an owners name, or King getting involved in the squad photo or the laps of honour
