Poor old MR left to face the shit again, how many more times will he put up with amateur backroom crap?

I am sure when they were recruiting they were fully aware of Allens impending injury. Why didnt they also sign another 11 players just to be safe in case more of the pre-planned injuries happened?

Not sure how DK comes into this considering the recruitment team failed to find anyone suitable during the 6 weeks after the Stamenic debacle.

I remember the days in preseason when Allen, Eccles, Torp and Sheaf was enough depth…

Going into match 10 and we’re down to Eccles and Torp only. It was always a risk given Allen, Torp (last season) and Sheaf’s injury records.

In fact, Allen probably has a worse injury record than Sheaf.

We started the season with 5 senior midfielders. It was never enough. 6 is the absolute minimum really.

Sarcastic twat.

We could of and should of added more cover in midfield, everyone was crying out for it.
Imo Allen isnt a bad miss as he's not first choice anyway, but with Sheaf injured, how can we let Palmer go without bringing in a replacement? Whichever way you look at it, that's piss poor management, which is now coming home to roost.

We are now down to 2 fit midfielders, and 2 coming back (hopefully) from injury and Andrews who's untested! 👏

Wonder if keeping him on when he was exhausted and couldn't run against spurs and then starting him played it's part?
Players will have to play through some fatigue throughout the stadium. Football is a contact sport and injuries are part and parcel of the game, unfortunately.

It’s unlikely that Allen’s contract gets renewed past this season. He’s been a good servant but his injury record is getting worse and he’s the wrong side of 30 now.

Palmer forced a move, it was out of the clubs hands. We’ll have to make do until Jan-Feb - it’s not that big a deal.

It's not Palmer leaving that's the problem, it's not replacing him when we had the chance.
There was out of contract players or loan players that could of been training with us for a couple of weeks by now and be ready to go.

Yes we should have but not at the risk of spending money on someone who isnt good enough or costs too much. Clearly we attempted to sign a midfielder lets not try and pretend they didnt.
Didnt we hear we had a loan lined up and it fell through due to a late injury? If so can hardly blame them for running out of time on a loan player.
If we are signing free agents and waiting for them to get fit isnt that the same situation we already have?

Yes, some of these trumpets act like we didn't try and sign a midfielder.

Trying and succeeding are two different things, we all know we tried!
However, having failed to recruit our main targets, shutting the door on players like Matty James (to name just one) is potentially a big mistake.
If we lose Rudoni or Eccles to injury now, we would be up a shitty creek with no sign of a paddle.

To not get a midfielder last transfer window is up there with any stupid decisions SISU made with player recruitment
Giving David Bell a four year contract?
Selling Lucas Jutkiewitz in relegation threatened season with no replacement being signed and the money not made available?
Selling Wilson to Bournemouth and accepting 4 useless loan players as part of the deal?
Just three Sisu transfer decisions off the top of my head that are far worse than anything going on now. If I thought about it there would be a lot more.
Some people have short, selective memories.

You don't get points for trying.

Said it in another thread, these are "dog ate my homework" excuses. The club failed to do what was clearly necessary, they deserve criticism for it.
