Robins had zero clue (2 Viewers)

Along with people with the gift of being able to blag, bullshit and bedazzle in interviews with nothing to actually back it up with.

Good people tend to be bullshit proof. Problem is when you’ve got someone who isn’t making the first hires and it’s bullshitters all the way down

This isn’t about Robins. He’s a proven operator. The new face in the mix is King. The “we’ve been rescued” period is now giving way to the he doesn’t actually know what he’s doing and he’s making the decisions one.
Who’d have thought someone who couldn’t remember the last time they’d watched a football match wouldn’t be an ideal person to run a football club?

Quinn1971, apologies I can't seen to be able to quote posts at the moment.
I've answered your question about what managers I would replace Robins with, in Post 250. You've chose to ignore it. Like Grendel said, we would get managers applying from this country and abroad, experienced and inexperienced. Its up to King to decide not me.
As for

Carr was an individual coach for Wolves Academy, Robert’s is an ex swimmer and women’s team player who was “Head of Elite Development” at the PL but hasn’t been at a club, Aled Williams is a goalkeeping coach who was U23 GK coach at wolves, Delaney was academy coach at Villa then here, Boateng was U18 and U23 coach at Villa then Assistant Cosch at Ghana where they managed to not qualify from a Cup of Nations group with Cape Verde, Egypt and Mozambique.

This is by far the highest level job any of them have ever done. Madness to hire them all at once.
Agreed, need a bit of experience in there if we’re going to persist with MR, which we obviously still should for now at least

I have a horrible gut feeling that the Robins-era is coming to an end. It will be a sad day when he leaves. No doubt we will end up with Boateng as interim manager.

Preparing the team, picking the team, picking the formation and tactics, motivating the players, making subs is all about Robins.
And he's failing. After being given a load of money.

Nomatter if you think Robins should go or not, if Boateng is deemed to be the answer then anything but a return to mediocrity and relegation fights seem inevitable.

Honestly I think you wouldn’t be defending them so much if they were a bloke.

She’s top of the pile so she gets the blame. But the other staff changes are just as to blame.

Doug hasn’t a clue what he’s doing and is clearly taking advice from the shiniest PowerPoint like he would at a business. He hasn’t recognised what made us punch above our weight and in trying to “modernise” has destroyed our competitive advantage. By sticking his nose into transfers he’s created a squad of weak minded kids who can’t hack being coached or the rigours of Championship football.

What needs to change is that. And if it changes there’s no one better than Robins for CCFC. If it doesn’t change then it doesn’t matter who is manager because they’re not making the decisions.

The staff we’ve brought in have no experience at this level. Dr Claire was working with the PL on VAR, not at a club. The coaches have come from African football and youth football.

It’s been a fucking disaster and no one at the club bar Doug can fix it but he’s too bloody minded to even admit that’s the problem.
I'm with this.

Exactly robins isn't to blame at all. He isn't picking the team or deciding on the formations. He has no say on anything at all and he's doing it all for free from the kindness of his own heart.

He should have a job for life because nothing is ever his fault and he has no weaknesses.

Sisu in.

Personally I would like a young promising manager. Edin Terzic is available, but unrealistic, so someone like Robbie Keane. Another option could be David Wagner.
Loads of managers are out of work. Lampard, Xavi, Vieira, Potter etc. Would King pay compensation for a manager already in a job? That's why I said it's not my job.

David Wagner!!! Are You Having a Laugh, didn't He Insult Our Club 😨

David Wagner. A manager who's team finished above ours last season? He insulted our club, so what.
Robins scored against our club and cost us points. Are we not allowed to employ anyone who upsets a few of us

Replying in general to various comments by various posters rather than anyone specifically;

We’re 7 games in.

We’ve had shit starts to the last two seasons and finished in a play off final and FA cup semi

Aidy was cleared sacked for gross misconduct hence no statement, no transparency and statements through lawyers. He wasnt the messiah, he was also an ‘unknown’ coach when he joined.

We have assembled a young squad as per the desired “brentford” model. They’re taking time to flourish is all.

There is nothing but rumours in the “King wont sign matty james” narrative. Stop confusing rumours and facts.

The leaks at the club have stopped, stop making up other rumours to try to fit a club in crisis narrative. It is just as likely that King and Robins are completely on the same page and in agreement about everything. Noone knows anything for fact.

Robins should have a job at this club for life. He goes when he wants. He is a principled man that if it was really that bad and he felt he couldnt fix it he’d go himself. As someone said, a relegation to league 2 wouldnt happen under him. If King sacks him he can have back my season ticket. I wont sanction that nonsense.

The vocal minority are incredibly entitled, drawn in by the hype train around us. They were the same at the start of last season too, i remember it well.

We’ll come good, we’ll have a great season with some very good youngsters, we’re lacking leadership without sheaf in the side

We’re not competing with Leeds, the season we were a penalty away from the Prem we lost home and away to Burnley

We arent going to get fucking relegated stop shitting your pants. Even if we didnt improve at all, there are some shite teams in this league we’d still beat. Honestly the mood swings some of you have should be diagnosed
I find it ironic that having a terrible start to the season is now accepted as normal. Surely they should learn how to start the season positively.

Im not accepting it as normal. Im saying that we dont need to overreact because its happened before and we have evidence that it doesnt define a season. That we have finished in the playoffs and in the top half (after a cup semi) on the back of a poor start.
So everyone crying and predicting relegation should calm down

It kind of does define a season if a quarter of it is wasted getting beaten most weeks.

Finishing in the top half, is that really the definition of a good season after spending about £40-£50m?

We haven't spent 40 or 50 million this season though.
If you look on sites that monitor these things most have this seasons spend down as 15 - 17 mil.

And have us as 7th highest spenders.

Another conflation of 2 seasons, just like tagging on results!

The players are still here so of course it counts for the money spent on the squad?

"Nah we paid millions for wright last season so it doesn't count" 🙄

This is the bit i struggle with Nick.
We’re not entitled to anything. We’re not the only club dreaming of promotion and not the only club spending money, and in fact lots more spend more.
Im pissed off with a shit start, when Robins said he wanted a strong start, but i absolutely dont think thats a reason to sack him or write off this season now.
It took Brentford 3 attempts to get up via the playoffs after finishing top 6 and something like 7 seasons. Nothing is given to us just because the players talked a big game in pre season

We were 8th highest net spend last season
And I'm sure of the 5 above us left, (2 have gone up), they also have players that are still there so it's pretty hard to quantify.

So if you're going to conflate our spend over 2 seasons you have to do it for everyone else. Without doing the maths I'd inaging it would still see us 7th or 8th

I don’t think any pundits or bookies had us down for a bottom half finish, never mind where we are currently. It’s safe to call it underperforming so far.

I wasn't comparing it to others, I was saying how much we have spent on the squad we have now.

We've spent a fortune for us, but it's not that much in the Championship scheme of things.

As Brighton said we're underperforming, that's without question.

Ah is it the "give them something really shit so they are happy with something half shit?" Approach?

At the start of the season, a play off challenge would have been the expectation.
