We have lost our method of play. We used to be fast, pacey and quick on the break. Now we play constantly across the back and slightly forward to the wings. Then normally it's straight back and start again.

Granted we have lost the players who allowed this method but surely this is the type of player we should have recruited (ok, they are not going to be as effective) who could play in this role.

Seems to me we have adopted this tippy tappy approach due to the "new methods" of coaching just to keep possession. We would win games with only 30-40% possession, now we have most possession with no end result.

I always remember the Auf Wiedersehen Pet episode where Barry wanted to paint the hut. Everyone had a 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice. No one colour prevailed and in the spirit of proportional representation it ended up being yellow!
I think this is how our coaching methods are being created!

Two myths to be put to bed.
1) James, the out of contract Messi, is no sort of answer. Mistakes were made in the window around midfield. I’d rather see Andrews given a run.
2) We didn’t replace Hamer. We did. We signed Torp. He’s just not good enough.

Torp isn’t the same type of player there are very few Hamer types about Norwich have one but I haven’t seen many more.

Go on, point out where I ever called Hamer shit. He was one of our two best players.
All I ever see you post is about him eating kebabs and coming back to watch the club. Assumed that meant you thought he was overweight and thus didn't rate him

You can see how I came to that conclusion can't you if your honest?

I dont think I’ve ever commented about him coming back to watch us play. I do think he’s looked overweight though, which is different to not rating him. I also think it’s why he’s not been signed by a PL from Sheff U.

btw I don't buy into the doom mongering on here about the players not being good enough or not trying. I suspect we would look a much more cohesive side if we could get Rudoni more involved in the games (i.e. play him deeper, in whatever formation enables that). A football team is a machine of 11 moving parts, which isn't easy to get right, and confidence can drain away when it doesn't work right. But surely we've all seen over the years how quite a small tweak can be enough to turn things around.
Spot on. Looking back to both Werder Bremen and Everton Rudoni picked the ball up many a time from the centre backs, ran with it and that created the openings. In those games he was running what we did. We have then tried to play him as COH and I don’t I don’t think he can do it, we become pedestrian at the back and midfield. Prime example was Kitching on Saturday he panicked didn’t know what to do with the ball and more often than not passed it to Leeds. Thomas was similar, if it made the pass to one of our players, which normally was Simms is was head high or wide of him. Simm isn’t the greatest at ball control so we gave it straight back to Simms.
Especially after the Everton game our fans were asking who is COH as Ruffin looked the business. Again look at his role against Spurs, played 10 yards deeper and the team were far better for it.

But that doesn't indicate that I think it would guarantee success.
It just indicates that I think by hook or by crook we need more bodies and I can't understand anyone arguing against that.

Ideally we'd have landed Browne or Stamenic, but it didn't happen so yeah, January it is.
How has Stamenic been performing looking at his figures it looks pretty average to me.
