This sort of plays in to something I've said about our form under Robins, we seem to have huge spells of promotion form followed by huge chunks of relegation form.
Our support would probably be a lot less reactionary if we picked up points more consistently throughout the season.
It does, and I do realise there is a pattern, but I think each time so far there has been a valid excuse with the possible exception of this start of season, when I genuinely believed we would hit the ground running. For whatever reason it hasn't happened. Arguably with no Sheaf, but then it should have been addressed that someone who rarely plays a full season should be relied upon so much.
In the past there have been ground and pitch issues, lots of loans or new players bedding in, small squads, key injuries, running out of steam after the cup exerts etc etc. After we took Everton apart pre-season and played such lovely football, I went out for the first time since relegation from the PL and backed us for promotion (so I guess I'm partly to blame!)
