Questions that I genuinely can't answer (6 Viewers)

What style of football are we attempting? Possession based? Counter attack? Are we trying to build up slowly or more directly?

Why did we spend millions on a young keeper who's good with his feet only to immediately drop him for Wilson, who Robins decided some time ago isn't good enough, and is poor with his feet? Especially when today Wilson was required to use his feet regularly.

Why did we spend so much on EMC, who can clearly only play left wing (if that), when we already have our record signing and one of last season's best players there in Wright?

Our entire defence (other than keeper) have all been here for a whole season. Why does Robins still not know his best back 4?

Why have we got 3 multi million pound strikers when we only play with 1?

Why can't our players play twice in a week?

The answer to at least some of these questions can be found in England’s summer performances. A defensively minded manager in charge of players lopsided in the number of attack minded individuals.

I think he wants them to play in how we’ve already seen Swansea and now Sheffield Wednesday do with little difficulty. Pass and move, basically.

The players have mentioned that there has been a step up in the training sessions. What does this actually mean? One of the defining attributes of all Robins' championship teams has been good organisation with players clear about their roles. How does training support this?

Swansea and Sheff Wed weren’t very good though.

And to Southgate’s credit, his England side very rarely conceded more than one goal, which with Kane, Bellingham, Saka etc. generally means you win the game.

Possession based, similar to the start of last season and unlike the successful teams we have had. Robins would like us to build up faster but that isn’t happening.

Because the keeper we spent millions on was poor and Robins decided inferior to the one we had. He does however have age on his side and will make improvements to his game.

Because we wanted to sign him last season when we were desperate for wingers however Doug King needed to save a fiver. That ‘deal of the crentury’ is looking worse now.

Because they are all playing so poorly, they cannot sustain a period in the team.

A question for the recruitment team.

I do not know.

I don’t believe Dovin has been dropped bc he’s seen as inferior to Wilson - he’s done nothing wrong in the games he’s played.

I’m not claiming to be ITK, but a friend of mine was supposedly told that Dovin was dropped for having a poor attitude. After the matter, I was shown a text to him dated 27th September that Wilson was starting v Leeds.

Some stuff that’s been mentioned to me would explain why Collins is all of sudden bombed out completely and Wilson is back in the fold.

Seems very odd that he’d be dropped for poor attitude after 6 games starting? Any elaboration?

I wasn’t given specifics (nor did I ask) but was told he doesn’t take training as seriously as the others and as a principle, MR expects players to train as they play.

Seems odd to me too but considering he hadn’t made any mistakes, it passes the sense check.

The same person told me at Ipswich (H) last season that AV was leaving and I took that with a pinch of salt.

One thing I would say, isn’t it strange that Wilson is back in the fold and Collins has been frozen out since AV left? 🤔

It’s concerning we’re hearing this common theme about players attitudes at the club, weren’t the recruitment team assessing the personalities to see whether they would fit in? Laughable

yes seems odd to me to. And by odd I mean a waste of £2m or whatever it was.

Collins was calamitous at the end of the last season tbf. I’m shocked we didn’t get rid of one of him and Wilson in the summer.

It’s nice to see you posting seriously now. Enjoyed your formation analysis in that other thread 👍

It’s early days, MR is probably putting the young GK in his place to get him to work harder.

On the Collins point, it seems that he is on too much money to easily shift and apparently v distant from the first teamers personally. Wilson was going into this season firmly as the number 2 option.

Did he get banned again? Can’t reply his post.

It is boosh right? Time to unban I think. Actually has better takes than most on here when he’s not wumming

Still here… I think 😊
To reply your points

1. At this point I don’t think Robins is capable of coaching a side to successfully dominate possession and win games.

2. Don’t think Dovin was poor at all really. Attitude rumour might explain it but all just odd and very bad for the club.

3. Yeah think we might’ve just got fleeced with EMC. Went into negotiations needing a winger and didn’t rethink our position when we weren’t getting him till the summer.

4. Will probably get shot down for this but I really rate Thomas. Kitching I was confident on but his lack of pace is a problem I think, and has been the cause of some issues. Binks I like on the ball, but not sure how good he is defensively. And we desperately need a new LB.

5&6 😕

They are average teams for this division but looked a level above whatever we were doing. The better teams in this league will tear this side to pieces like Leeds did.

We were really poor yesterday first half but by the end of the game were on top, conceded an offside goal and lost a point not the end of the world but something is missing, the fans have to try and support the players

The fans will support the players if they see effort.

They can’t moan about the fans anyway. The crowd was quiet yesterday admittedly, but they weren’t getting on anyone’s back

I’m pretty sure Kitching was playing him onside.

I am sure - and Wilson alluded to this himself - he is playing because he talks a lot during the games and is, therefore, an alleged ‘leader’ that we haven’t got. V Blackburn he was very vocal and was almost managing the defence through the game (maybe why the GK coach has more to do with defence now too). He didn’t yesterday as he was having a wobbly game and his distribution was terrible so he lost his nerve and he too went mute.

Maybe as an international player whos kept goal for his country he's a bit of prima donna who thinks he knows best and training is beneath him? I'm not trying to throw muck on any player but he's new to the fold and human nature suggests this is a possiblity. And with Adi gone and not strong arming them, maybe some are taking the piss a bit.

On the other hand, could it be that someone is seeing & picking up on attitudes ‘where maybe someone else would not.

There's the matter of a season not not synced up to this management structure with all that entails, previous squad for instance, some very old members and some not so,but all previous to switch apart from2-3 EMC being one of those and Bink's also, wonder if there was anything else changed apart from this structure, financial model for instance?

There’s zero evidence of that whatsoever

Further though on this, call me an old cynic but this change of structure occured around the start of a new tax year as well didn't it?
