Completely agree with this, his body language was appalling today. It started with the half arsed clap to the fans at the start of the game and then continued when he was constantly arguing with his team mates and throwing his arms around like, as you say, a petulant child.

You wonder if something has happened because he looks miserable.

Hopefully the upcoming break will allow him to catch up to speed and come back as the player of last season. That's both today's game and the Spurs one where he lost possession in injury time, allowing the opposition to break and score.

He’ll have had the chance to move in the summer and now probably regrets being a professional and agreeing to stick it out another season. Will be gone next summer

Sat in corporate today so got a different view today but felt bad for Sheaf. He was constantly telling other players who to mark especially the wingers. Felt he was annoyed today with some of his team and the referee.

Was annoyed with the pass to him at the end as was clearly not in a position to receive the pass.

Looked like he was played into trouble rather than fucking up himself at the end to be honest

I blame Robins for the second goal. Sheaf or Eccles should've been able to take one for the team and stop them running like a knife through butter, but both were on yellows. I called it way before it happened and it's would've been at least one or possibly both for Torp/Lati.

Then they should’ve taken a second yellow and a one match ban then? At least we’d have come away with a point! If it was a 60-80th minute goal, I’d 100% agree with you. In stoppage time, you take the red card. Kitching did that against Blackburn away last season and we drew the game in the end.

Soft defending from Eccles and poor positioning from the CBs tracking the goal scorer was at fault.

Taking a yellow is different to taking a second one. You can't be 100% in the middle of the park they would score and if they had, you'd be saying it was reckless and cost us the Preston game. They should've been subbed.

Even forgetting about the yellow cards, we were crying out for fresh legs in the middle of the park.
Robins must have zero faith in Torp.

He played well against Blackburn but otherwise has been absolutely shite.

There's a lot of excuses for him, but the bottom line is he's not quite as good as some in our fan base have elevated him to. The whole 20+ million to the Premier League is looking very silly at the moment.

Still think he can make a good impact on his day, and with Eccles and Rudoni we do have a decent midfield, but I am also concerned at the body language, and if he's going to be captain he needs to significantly up his game and set a better example. As the focal point of our leadership it is poor.

Heard Sheaf lost his shit yesterday post game

The pressure on him to be the saviour has also been put on him internally not just us fans and he is getting hugely frustrated with the shite around him

As mentioned above he's having to talk wingers etc through the basics of the game, (whoch is clearly affecting his own game) as is Bidwell and both are getting hugely fucked off now. Wouldn't be surprised to see him go in Jan tbh

Also, feel for Eccles who is genuinely taking these performances to heart. As a cov kid and fan he feels he needs to be the man to change things but alongside Sheaf and Bidwell it's not being listened too

And Bidwells voice won't be in the dressing room for a while now.

I think this sounds spot on to be fair, glad he spoke up. He needed to, its not ok Sheaf and Bidwell to walk Haji and EMC through a game like its their first steps, as wingers they should know what to do.
As for Eccles he’s playing well and these performances are not on him aside from a few knob heads that wont rate him till they see him sold for a lot of money and doing well in the tier above (some still wouldnt admit he is good)

Observed this with Eccles a while ago, the genuine professionals in this group are getting visibly annoyed at those who aren’t doing their jobs. If Sheaf’s own game is suffering because of it I’m not surprised.

Don’t know what the answer is to this

He needs to look at his own performances as well. Like I said, people are very quick to make excuses for him and not include him in how shit we've been playing, but he's been back around four games, and gifted the winner to the opposition twice in that time.

I agree with your point about Wright and EMC though.

Have any of the fans?

All I hear in the main on here, is that he's not the answer and not good enough at the moment.

He looked like he was protecting his injury to me, did think with his ankle maybe he should have sat out this one as they we know they are very physical side.

But because of our piss poor recruitment in the centre there was no other option other than Torp and Andrews

Not sure why Sheaf was heralded as the saviour, he's never been that sort of player. He was a great compliment to Hamer in the middle but Sheaf has always seemed better in the supporting act role rather than the main man.

More of a Michael Carrick type than a Gerrard
