I would be concerned about the mans intelligence if he had no opinion on where he wanted to work, live and earn. I certainly wouldn't leave that sort of thing up to an agent!

I have said this all along. All players leave everything to their agent. They will not consider anything until the agent advises him of the best deal. He has no attachment to Coventry. He who bids highest wins.

No he will be presented by his agent with the best option. He will not tell his agent he wants to stay at Coventry.
This is why when Marlon King "called" thorn saying he was staying this was untrue. Players do not decide and it's why his agent quashed the story.

Oh dear. I wondered how long it would be before fans begin to turn on Goldie. If he gets a better offer then he will leave! When he signed for us he said that it was a chance to show people what he can do and get himself in the shop window. He has done just that and deserves whatever move he gets.

Think that the fact we have a decent manager now, playing a more attacking style, means that the impact of McGoldrick leaving wouldn't be as bad as some people think.
We'll get somebody else in, and we'll carry on scoring goals throughout the team like we are now.
The goals scored by players such as King and Juke were goals to get us narrow wins, draws or more often consolation goals in defeats.

These things are complicated & subsequently dictated simply by the modern-age God - money!
Goodie probably has an agreement with his agent which means his agent gets the best deal (money!)...& Goldie agrees to take it. The agreement with NF will mean they have to accept a transfer fee from whoever offers the most (money!) for him (if in contract) before proper negotiations with the potential new club begin to getthe best terms (money!)
Doesn't matter to agents, players or clubs if the player flops. They just go through the whole sorry process again & losses (money!) are written off against tax. The tax income thereby lost by the Govt is taken from elsewhere (that'll eventually mean the like of me) in tax (money!)
What the market (mugs like me) will stand I's pushed to the max. What fans want is completely irrelevant e.g. Benitez (though Chelsea fans seem to be warming to him by the game) except VERY few isolated cases.

I don't think we can be too angry with him if he decides his future lies elsewhere. Look back at some of the comments when we signed him, people going over his career stats with a fine tooth comb, etc. He's come in played well, scored more goals that we could have dreamed of. It's been good while it lasted. Hopefully we can keep him, if not then good luck to him.

It'd be a shame if some here started giving him the King treatment simply for choosing Championship football. The bloke could well have scored 20 by January and frankly I'm glad we had him while we did.

100% agreed, he hasn't even gone yet and he is being turned against, why don't we wait and see, he has been fantastic for us, that goes without saying, he has put us in a good position to kick on and Robins will have a back up, i think whatever happens he should be applauded for his efforts not berated, if players ever were to come on this site, you could understand why they would want to Feck off with some of the comments on here!!!! back Robins and keep the faith, regardless of who comes and goes!! (I await the onslaught)

No it's not. If CCFC won't match Forrest's asking price, it's not up to him. It's down to who bids for him. Then it's down to issues such as wages, if we are only offering 25% of what other clubs are offering, he's gonna have to seriously consider what to do but his family may also have some day in their his move.
If we can't offer something competitive for a player who is enjoying his time here, lives local, is seventh choice at his patent club, publicly not wanted at said club and going into the last 6 months of his contract where they will get no compo for him, we need to complaining bout our owners!!! You offer him a decent contract, he will sign. He's spent three years hardly playing, he doesn't want to do that again.
Err yes it is. He's fully within his rights to see out his contract at forest and leave on a free when it ends. M UST be earning a fair wedge at forest

He's a quality player and he's affordable. Forest want rid of him, we want him to stay and we wont have to pay the earth to get him. 250k tops. It all depends if he wants to stay that much to say no to Championship clubs

The main decision maker in all of this is McG - just like Westwood treated us he decided to let his contract wind down and not even talk to any other club until then and we were powerless to do anything as he simply priced himself beyond anything we could afford. When he was a free agent he chose to go to Sunderland. To say he has no say in it is simply laughable - if his agent got him a dire contract with a 3rd Division side in Siberia or Sudan would he simply say thanks and trot off? He will have given his agent his ideal scenario - eg division, geographic preference, minimum salary and length of contract etc and its up to the agent to get as close to that as possible and bring the available options to McG who then decides which to take.
With his profile and record being good at the moment and his wage demands no doubt way above anything we can or should afford I am afraid it could be bye bye David. But if he does decide to sit out contract and tells Forest that and says the only place I will go on loan is Cov then maybe we have a chance of keeping him for remainder of season.
