What a stupid thing to say- who cares where he came from? There are hundreds of examples of players who came from a lot lower than L1 and did well, and there are hundreds of examples of players who started slow then did well. We should know, we’ve had a fair few of them, in both categories.

My worry is his very heavy first touch.

We sadly have a few with really poor first touches. BTA, Simms and EMC all seem to find close control difficult. At this level it results in possession being turned over.

People keep banging on about his ‘natural position’ but if he’s a right footed winger who is apparently incapable of playing on the right then how the fuck has he made it to the standard of professional football?

To be fair I think Wright would look pretty awful playing on the right.

While we haven’t had a change of players, we’ve completely overhauled our coaching staff. I’m hoping it’s just this adjustment.

I mean, Simms and Wright have both regressed back to where they were at the start of last season anyway.
