Say that about any transfer but transfer market have him EMC and Kitching as some of the most expensive L1 players of all time.
Can’t really, other fees are out in the open eg what we paid for Wright. Who for the money we’ve paid is far too inconsistent

Heard Sheaf lost his shit yesterday post game

The pressure on him to be the saviour has also been put on him internally not just us fans and he is getting hugely frustrated with the shite around him

As mentioned above he's having to talk wingers etc through the basics of the game, (whoch is clearly affecting his own game) as is Bidwell and both are getting hugely fucked off now. Wouldn't be surprised to see him go in Jan tbh

Also, feel for Eccles who is genuinely taking these performances to heart. As a cov kid and fan he feels he needs to be the man to change things but alongside Sheaf and Bidwell it's not being listened too
You can see the decent pros on the pitch, Sheaf,Eccles,Bidwell and Rudoni even when not on the top of their game show some desire.

Wright,Simms e.t.c just look disinterested. the sort of players that drive you mad because they have the ability.

Maybe we should try Andrews later in games not as a starter get him involved youthful exuberance and all, it will give the fans something else to slag the team off at the very least

What the hell was going on with him today waving his arms about like a petulant child when any of his misplaced places went out of play... Get a grip Sheaf
2nd goal was again you faffing about in midfield and losing the ball 🤬🤬
PLEASE GOD watch the replay and tell me again that this is as a result of Sheaf “faffing” about in midfield.
Van Ewijk blindly plays a pass into an area of the pitch Sheaf isnt in. He took the easy option and killed Sheaf.
Sheaf lunges at the ball to try to win the challenge, but already on a yellow couldnt go in full blooded.

Absolutely unbelievable you look at that and call that.

It’s not exaggeration. Other than Saka and MvE who has been worth their fee?
Feel Bobby Thomas is a 2 million Centre half, feel he’ll forge a very decent career.

We overpaid for pretty much everyone else bar Sakamoto, Thomas and MVE, frustrating

Recruitment has been v poor since badlan left let’s be honest. We made some poor signings under his recruitment like kastaneer and jobello but we got a hell of a lot more right than wrong, now it’s the other way round

The lack of effort by some is pretty evident. I doubt it’s intentional but a confidence thing for the most part.

Next game MR has to play players who have some confidence and/or resilience and/or commitment about them.

Who ticks that box that isn’t currently playing I don’t really know! Bassette has a point to prove, probably Binks too. Ability wise he’s poor, bur even Taveres would put the effort in.

Don’t know the answer but the lack of effort is frustrating and sounds like isn’t helping team camaraderie either.

The problem is if Sheaf wants to leave in Jan then he better start performing because he’s made no difference to the midfield.

I'd wait for the accounts. A lot of our fees are reported as X but often we've paid lower with add ons rising to. If we're not successful they won't have cost as much, if we are then they'll have been worth yhe extra.

Taking a yellow is different to taking a second one. You can't be 100% in the middle of the park they would score and if they had, you'd be saying it was reckless and cost us the Preston game. They should've been subbed.
If the choice was between a 2nd booking and conceding a stoppage time goal to lose the game… it’s an absolute non-starter, you take the red card.

If he was clean through, we're talking about in the middle of the park

the 2 signings that have looked promising ( bassette and dovin) can’t even get a minute game time, what’s going on with bassette ?

I still think him going was one of our biggest losses in the last few years. The man who scouted two lads who'd both go on to become the best players we've had since we got relegated from the PL and we let him leave...

ok so if we could sell the following for the fees mentioned in january and rebuild with hopefully the Gyokeres money would you take it

Haji £5m
Simms £4m
MVE £8m
Kitching £1m
EMC £2m
Gyokeres money £6m

so in effect £26m to rebuild effectively needing
3 full backs
1 centre back
2 midfielders
2 forwards for that money

We’d do well to get that much for some of those.

Yeah mate let’s sell the forwards that scored almost 40 goals last season for £9m combined, genius you are.

Say£30M as sheaf will be off too I'd wager, of course, but might be a team built for L1 rather than Prem dream?
