Does this really warrant yet another thread, Nick?

Maybe we can have a thread for each sentence Robins uttered last night.

Surely this question can be asked in one of the already numerous threads we have going at the moment.

They are popping up all over the place.

I didn't find it strange, for what it's worth.

I think he's just saying we have the players in order to become a very good side going forward.

Fair enough, but it should be abundantly clear to the coaching staff even Doug, that we need to supplement this young team with a spine of experience.

I always remember the ‘you won’t win anything with kids’ argument (Alan Hansen I think, aimed at Utd and their class of 92), however it’s feasible if there is a vein of experience in the team.

Personally, I can’t accept that we will be challenging for anything other than mid table safety for a few years, at the very least. We need seasoned personnel.

It's also worth pointing out who the kids in question were. Not often a bunch like that come through.
You normally need experience.

I'm pretty fed up of Robins excuses each week. The average age of the team isn't even that low. Infact the team with the lowest average age is Sunderalnd and they are top of the league.

Building blocks are bollox too as 8 out the 11 last night were with us last season.

It's odd from the owner really or the recruitment that they put the future profit on players at risk with this attitude to experience, and individual identity ( O'Hare) , spirit!
Going further, it's like a mechanical approach to the game?

But surely he's talking about the squad isn't he? Why would he just talk about 11 players? And he obviously wasn't just talking about last night.

We signed 7 new players in the summer.

He also used the phrase 'nobody feels comfortable' Another strange one!

Presumably he means all the seats in the dugout are uncomfortable now because Doug is cost cutting and has removed the padding.

Which can only mean Robins and King's working relationship is at boiling point and the sack is imminent and relegation is inevitable.

Only 2 new outfield players started last night so why were we still so poor with no idea of tactics, no game plan, nothing. It was dreadful to watch. Its very, very clear to me that our style of play and performances over the last few seasons were down to Viveash and Lawrence, not Robins.

It has now been proven that last paragraph is tosh, they are proving to be less than average currently and all permutations have surely been tried now.
I keep wondering if MR is being told by King to keep rotating the squad to constantly keep players in the spotlight for future sale.

I don't think it is a big deal. He's using the term because we didn't lose the game and therefore hopefully have something to add to next week. A bit of a soundbite but it makes sense given the result.

Again though, there are people jumping on each thread like to shut down any dissent like an alarm has gone off, and these are the people who don't watch the games in what I gather, pretty much any capacity. Of course you are going to feel less emotional about it.

I’m not sure that would help their resale value at the moment,

When you‘ve won 1 game in 9 and lost two on the bounce with a midweek away game, we just needed to not lose. To be frank, we had the better chances too so we can take a positive out of the game performance wise even if the result wasn’t ideal.
Ordinarily I would agree but I honestly thought QPR were terrible apart from Chair. It was one we had to win in view of upcoming tasks .

They were but when confidence is so low, you need something to latch into. QPR are also in a similar position to us you feel i.e. punching below their weight.

Robins has to extract what positives we can from the game. If one of the many Debby downers on here were managers, they’d be slagging players off publicly and moaning about the performance. Every player we have is not shit for god sake! We just need to add quality on defence and midfield and we’ll be back on track.

I agree but as he has admitted himself,King knows little about football, he’s a financial guru and perhaps thinks if they are all getting a chance in the shop window, they will be noticed. At the moment they will be but for all the wrong reasons.

Again I agree but we have to negotiate the rest of this month and then at least two more before we can rectify anything.

Jesus Christ we've spent £45M on players and after 10 games you reckon "we just needed to not lose" against bottom of the league who had last 4 on the bounce.
