Changing the team every week / our best team (7 Viewers)

There is absolutely zero continuity in the side at the moment, chopping and changing 3 or 4 players from one game to the next, there is no rhythm and no playing style. We have to allow players to gel and define a playing identity. This is currently the best team to be playing and we have to give it a go.

Dovin
MVE. Thomas Binks Bidwell
Sheaf Eccles
Sakamoto Rudoni Wright
Simms or Thomas Asante (unsure which)

MVE is a level above in a 4 and when he has a player like tats in front of him who will work back (MVE is dogshit in a 5)

Rudoni has to be allowed to play as a creative central player he’s not working as an 8 or 6

Let Eccles be a holding midfielder only he offers nothing creatively he doesn’t have it, stop trying to make him play a game he can’t

Saka and wright are our 2 best wingers

This team plays to our strengths and plays our best players in the system that they are most able to express themselves.

This formation and system is what we built around in the summer and we sacked it off after 6 games, the alternative is not better!

This formation and the players in those positions will allow us to progress the ball far far better than we are currently, we cannot effectively move the ball through the lines at the moment and it invites pressure.

Our only outlet tonight was to MVE and it didn’t work.

Strange not playing Saka and MVE together. They were the only partnership that worked well and gave some positive team spirit.
In a scrap I'd probably give Norman more of a go. And play Bidwell when he's back.
Wright is hanging by a thread but has a bit of quality.

100% agree, and it genuinely look like the results were probably, eventually, going to come in the first month or 2 of the season, when we were playing the preferred formation and line-up. I do think we would hugely benefit from a 10 coming in, to replace O'hare/Palmer, and would allow Rudoni to drop back with 4 players to cover the 2 positions.

Why? Norman got bullied off the ball every time it came near him again last night

People keep saying this about Eccles but he looked by far our most progressive midfielder yesterday. Rudoni was invisible and Sheaf seems to get a nose bleed beyond the centre circle.

Robins has dug himself a hole by constantly changing the lineups from game 1.

In hindsight he should have picked the team from last season and slowly introduced new players. I'm fairly sure we'd have been comfortable mid table by now.

The big problem here is that this was the continuity season. We made a decision to sign a number of players last year on longer term deals to have an advantage through squad cohesion, a core group who have played together for a long time.

Hence the no loans decision.

At the moment they look the complete opposite.

Apart from Sheaf being in the opposition's penalty area from a breakaway from our own corner to help set up the goal, yeah

How do you create partnerships across the pitch if you don't now where you or if you are playing week in week out. Sick of the chopping and changing, it leads to disconnect and no continuity. I would rather watch a struggling team that has a fluid style than the bitty stop start stuff we have at the minute. Midfield not linking forwards or breaking the lines so most of the time we play to the side or back and just keep recycling. Its great having possession when its in the oppositions half but if its in yours you may as well hit the channels for the strikers. We do not suit playing 3 centre backs at the minute it stifles our width especially down the right side Milan looks lost and is far better with a player in front of him so he has the confidence to overlap. Lots for the management team to ponder but i don't think its to do with confidence, its playing square pegs in round holes and not having a creative midfielder. Drop Eccles and play Rudoni next to Sheaf and let one of the creative players in the 8 role. Wright is better off the left, Tatts on the right and Bassette as the nine with possibly BTA the player behind. Just a suggestion but we need to start creating.

What on earth has Sheaf got to do with setting up the goal?

He didn't get a single assist last season, cannot shoot (which was evident again in the last game after he wasted good positions to blaze into row Z countless times), and the rest of the time dithers every chance he goes forward with the ball, which usually ends up either being intercepted by the opposition, or a 5 yard pass round the corner to one of the wide players at best.

He's absolutely useless going forwards and should be electrocuted every time he tries to cross the halfway line for the good of the team.

EDIT: MY MISTAKE IT WAS RUDONI, APOLOGIES ALL

A lot of bollocks talked about team sprit …. It comes from winning, from a settled side in it together, etc …..

You can do as many fun things as you like but if your not winning and not playing regularly as a player then you start to bitch and moan.

It's obvious Mark Robins doesn't know his best X1 🥴

All the best teams that have ever won anything never make changes unless it's through injuries. 🤔

He has only rotated the strikers. We have 4 good strikers with lots of depth who will all have their expectations of minutes. Got to keep them all happy too.

"Got to keep them happy" Well my I suggest Mark Robins is not doing a good job then. 😲
