When your lucky is out it's brutal, couple that with some poor defending it's hard to see a way out.

We have done a lot right in this match but are sloppy twice and we are screwed.

Our chances haven’t been clear cut though. Situations and scrambles. It’s the defence that’s the issue. We don’t do absolute basics. Too busy worrying about whether they can pass to each other for 80 minutes rather than the basics of defending.

Not read any other posts…Sheaf at fault for the 2nd? Looked like he backed off and gave morris all the time in the world.

Just huffed and puffed but produced nothing. No creativity to unlock their defence. They get 2 chances and produce 2 goals. Our team has no luck either. Ref has been decent and given calls our way. So no complaints there.

Said on another thread I was confused as to why people thought we would beat Luton

Kick it for a ticket back. 2-0 down. Raining. Shit atmosphere.

Are we back to 2008?

It looks like it physically hurts our players to run forward with it.

The amount of times they're in a forward position and just pass back aimlessly. No one is brave on the ball and it's costing us

We had a free kick inside their half, I looked down at my phone and looked back up and dovin was hoofing it

We created enough to have scored at least 1. I know you'll look for anything to confirm your belief that everything is terrible but we have created chances.

Think it was probably the mve shot from range that forced a good save.

They defended well for the second Simms chance.

Sheaf was unlucky as the ball was behind him.

We are losing 2-0.

Playing ok, all seem to be giving it their all, even the front two are busting a gut.

Which is quite worrying really as we still look so vulnerable every time they attack. Getting genuinely worried.

First half was as good as we've been all season, just our own worst enemies really and we've not had much luck with how the ball has fallen.

The penalty was a penalty even if the player made the most of it, no intention from Saka but we'd expect that to be given.

The second goal we're all over the place, Eccles is pushing forward on the right hand side, not sure where Sheaf is. Binks ball watching as Adebayor makes a simple run across him.

Come on, the second goal was also down to Sakamoto not pushing out and playing Luton onside - the defence had rightly pushed out and played 3 or 4 Luton players off if not for Sakamoto. What followed was shit defensively obviously.

Bizarrely, that has to be our best first half of the season. Sheaf excellent, Simms and Van Erwijk much improved. Sakamoto at fault for penalty and slow getting out for second goal but he holds the ball up so we'll and links the play in doing so.
Latibeudiere has had two cracking tackles. Unfortunately, Binks and Thomas have been out muscled.
We are just so frail, we're up against a solid defence when we're lacking confidence in front of goal , and these guys are incredibly direct and more physical up top than our centre backs are, I wouldn't be surprised if they're letting us have so much of the ball as a tactic to absorb our stat padding to hit us on the counter.

Sakamoto has been good whenever he’s been on his natural position on the right. We’re so much better going forward when we have him and Van Ewijk linking up. The other aspects of the role he’s been asked to play don’t suit him.

What was sakamoto so deep for their second? Played everybody on
yes and that’s poor but for fuck sake we should have dealt with it afterwards. we had about 4 defenders to deal with one bloke who did them with the worlds most obvious run across

any other defence in the league is dealing with that

Yes it was but Kitchin stupid free kick was build up to this… such a reckless challenge and not needed

Too easy to say after the fact. You could say that for 99% of fouls otherwise.

Plenty of opportunities to deal with it
