If anything I thought he gave us more decisions than we should have had. Seemed to have no control whatsoever over the game from very early on though
I reckon he knew he'd fucked up when he didn't give a yellow for the Simms pull back.

Thought he was going to lose it after the Kitching booking (underserved), but he was much better in the second half.

every decision for us, he was under a barrage of protests from about 4 or 5 Luton players. Should have stamped down on that

It took Carlton Morris too long to get booked for gobbing off, but once he was he shut up for the rest of the game. No matter how pissed off a player is, if he knows expressing it will get him sent off he’ll lay off.

Definite yellow for kitchen was reckless
As has been mentioned before, we all see a different game in the same stadium.

I was still fuming about the Simms let off for the Luton lad, and probably had my sky blue tinted glasses on.

Still think it was harsh though.

Definite yellow for Doughty too for the pull back

Team work was really lacking as the assistant was 5 yards from the Simms pull back in the first half that should have resulted in a caution for denying a promising attack. It was the referee though that gave the decision and there was no flag from the assistant 🫤

apart from the obvious yellow missed on simms, he had a good game - in light of that not being a yellow, some of those that followed were soft - eg taking the free kick too early

Ref was ok in my opinion, linos were useless however

We have had some shocking refs this year. But they are not helped by the assistants.

Don’t think I’ve seen one linesman (they’ve all been male from memory) make an actual decision all season. Everything relies on the referee. And when they’re rubbish, what chance do we have!

We are in block 23 and the linesman on our side was so far behind play it was ridiculous. He did give 1 correct offside against Luton but I've no idea how but then missed another 1 because of where he was. I thought the ref was ok, my only issue is that once he had booked Morris for dissent he let him get away with every other time he was given a mouthful by him.

Not sure they actually have to flag these days do they!? They are fully mic'd up with constant dialogue. Assistant referee says, yes seen a foul...Ref gives it.
Absolutely should have been a caution though!
Also, a big gripe of mine was the binks scuffle - the Luton player threw his arm at Binks, which was not seen by the official who was very close!

When I’m not watching with huge sky blue tinted spectacles I’m staggered by how easy it is to get away with stuff

My lad when reffing says it’s hardest when there’s a melee to keep a check on the players who’ve committed an offence

The second coming together the ref didn’t notice until the crowd told him

ght have been because Binks tried to clobber him, I thought the ref did ok, too easy to always blame officials.

Not sure how anyone can believe the Kitchen challenge did not deserve a booking it was not only reckless I am sad to say it shows just how poor he is at making decisions... He is a disaster waiting to happen pretty much every game I have seen him play.... for lots of those games he looks ok...even quite good ...but then he does something that is inexplicable...that challenge on Saturday was terrible and a clearexample of what I am saying......even when he clearly realised he wasnt going to win the ball and had time to pull up he just carried on ...wow

Many times the referees instruct their linos NOT to gesticulate or indicate any decisions...now they re all wired up they pass on their opinion verbally and let the referee look as if they are making the decisions...

Why bother with flags then?

Is that an actual line from the laws of the game or something you heard down the pub and took it as gospel?

Well it was the assistant that gave the foul on our right hand side in front of him from which we scored the winner.

I'm not sure he did pipe down, he was going at him for ages after.

the biggest issue with the lino, was when the ref ran over to see if the corner kick was within the correct area
It was blatantly clear from where the lino was standing that it was well within limits - he just had to tell the ref, and there would be no drama
instead the ref comes over needlessly to check
they really arent using their linos - who are often even too scared to flag until the ref has made a decision

No its not a law but it has always been the referees decision as to how he instrcts his linos...Howard Webb refers to it lots when he is on various tv and radio interviews ...go ask any qualified ref... why you look for crap when there isnt any?.. I may not even go to the pub :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Starts at the top for me. When all you see on TV is players and managers surrounding the ref and getting in their face what do the authorities think will happen further down the pyramid?

Its such an easy problem to solve as well, its not an issue in other sports because its not tolerated. If you started dishing out red cards and suspensions for descent it would soon stop.

No idea why this doesn’t happen. I know it’s a different sport but when I played Rugby, players and fans wouldn’t dream of abusing the ref as they do in football.

Need refs to get harsh on this, all up for debate but let it be through the captain and in the right manner.
