What do you suggest as a reliable source of news and fact checking for an issue like this? A straight answer would be good. If this one is nonsense, assume you can point to one that isn't.

Edit: please FFS can the pointless licence fee sh*te stay out of this thread, see also 'BBC bias!'. jfc
It’s hardly lots of words. It’s really an interpretation of the contempt of court act where statements made in the public could influence a trial.

It’s worth noting that Jonathan Hall QC - who is the independent reviewer of terrorism laws apparently - has said that information can be revealed and that hiding behind the legislation is not an excuse for silence.

I would also in this consider the case of Chris Kaba. It has been establish Kaba - a violent thug - was legitimately killed by a police officer when he presented a clear and present danger when trying to escape when asked to exit the car.

In 2022 when this occurred several prominent figures including the London Major and senior Labour MPs sent messages asking for justice for Chris Kaba. This surely in itself is prejudicial under the Act? It suggests the policeman - who was proved to be entirely innocent - was in fact culpable and could influence a jury.

I’m ever so sorry once again if it’s a lot of words for you to digest but perhaps comment on the points made rather than glossing over them next time,

You said a lot of words without answering a question. I made a poke at that. No clue what Chris Kaba has to do with this either. Still not convinced you've pointed to something that sets out to achieve what the BBC article does without falling into the 'nonsense' bucket.

and don't f*cking patronise me you dickhead.

Oh dear - someone is angry.

I was asking if the comments made by the aforementioned people regarding the Kaba incident are breaches under the same legislation that the police are hiding behind now.

If you can’t debate don’t engage

Were you really surprised? That’s what he does, he is the filibustering king- the Jacob Rees Mogg of SBT 😁

No idea how it’s ended up with detailed analysis of Chris Kaba and poison attacks in Salisbury, but I’m sure all will be revealed.

I asked you a straight question which you haven't answered. Tell me who / which source offers a breakdown of why certain information was or wasn't shared at which point following the Southport incident. One that isn't 'nonsense'. I'd genuinely like to know because I'd actually welcome a debate. I'm open to opposing arguments.

I can't debate with someone that won't set out the argument behind their own position even after they've asserted that someone else's position is nonsense. An article written by specialist journalists and researchers seems a fair source to put in the mix as it directly addresses the subject that the f*cking thread is about!

I cba to talk about Kaba as this thread isn't about that and I didn't bring it up. I'm not biting.

I have given a summation by a QC who I believe trumps a “specialist journalist” (what does that even mean?)

You seem like an emotional petulant child now out of his/her depth. I suggest you go to bed now and leave adults to debate this. You had a go to be fair and fell on your arse.

Let’s be very blunt here. Someone who pretended he lived in Croatia to adopt an alternative character to appear a bit more interesting than the dull creature known as Ring of Steel - or indeed the pathetic Cov identity - really has nothing worthy of my engagement

Link?

That bloke looks like an apologist for the Met (link) where he ironically argued they should have longer to release information that members of the public campaigned to have released. No chance he'll make conflicting arguments depending on who's paying him?

and the only easy to find sources referring to his comments on Southport are the Times and Spectator. He spoke about it to CEG which is linked with Policy Exchange (right-wing Think Tank). If that doesn't ring some alarm bells re: bias I don't know what does.

Im not sure what I’m doing to myself. Perhaps you can elaborate for the forum from Croatia/Ireland/Hinkley or Coventry or any other place your fantasy mind believes as an “FD” you now reside in

If you mean this article, I can't see where he says anything close to what you've written.

I've read it, and if anything, he's playing down the rush to label things as 'terrorism'.

I haven’t said it was but anyway according to you he is discredited as he dares to put articles in the Spectator and The Times (heaven forbid) - you do understand what he’s saying don’t you?

It’s not the article by the way - have another go

Nah, I'm good. You brought him up, you show where he said what you've written. Sending me fishing for it is a bit weird.

You think that his position on the subject is more worthy than a BBC journalist which makes it a bit odd that you don't just post it.

I know you think you're good at this but I'm gonna disagree. You jump around, deflect, and claim things you won't then back up.

and now the time I had to kill is up so I'm out. If you wanna debate something, do it. Don't fart around telling me to Google stuff.

Is The Times a tabloid these days? The Mirror is quoting an article in The SundayTimes.

Split hairs however you like, I’m not saying it’s true or untrue, I’m merely saying that when “unnamed sources” are at play I tend to wait for less dodgy evidence. You have presumably forgotten the ownership structure of this fine publication.

like I say, I am not taking a stance that it’s true or false, just that it’s not exactly smoking gun iron clad proof is it. You (and no doubt a few others) just want to believe it, so the usual stuff around not trusting the media gets conveniently put to one side.

And at the risk of being inflammatory, I don’t see too much scandal if it is true.

If you read the article in the Times it just seems like pretty sensible contingency planning.

Plans were put in place in case there was more violence when the additional charges were announced, surely everyone would agree that was not of the question, but the timing coincided with the end of the Blake firearms trial which carried with it the potential for officers refusing to carry out duties.

Not sure there's any big conspiracy here.

Given how there has been a few days since the news broke, it seems odd, although not surprising that this thread is so quiet, and so many that previously couldn't stay off this thread, are seemingly hiding away.

Several children were murdered, in what is yet again another attack in the name of radical Islam. You can add that to Manchester Arena, Westminster Bridge, Borough Market, David Amess, Lee Rigby, 7/7... The list goes on an on and on.

There were some of you during this thread that jumped on anyone who were pointing out the patterns, and since this time are now absolutely nowhere to be seen. More keen to call people names for being concerned, yet cower away when the facts have come out and there are difficult conversations to be had. I understand some reservation on speculation, but there is no excuse now. All I can see is silence. Washed away like those children mean nothing and it is better just to keep quiet.

Don't be cheap and try to confuse that with the one or two that were rightly kicked off this forum, as let's be clear, racism, attacks on people, or hate crimes are not ok. The UK is in a desperate situation however, and it isn't the only western country alone in this. If this is going to be the reaction each time there is an attack in the name of radical Islam though, then we are absolutely fucked.

Some will no doubt be jumping to conclusions at the colour of the attackers skin as their first thought on this horrendous incident. I'm not one of them.

If your first thought in reaction to Southport was ‘he’s a Muslim’, maybe it’s you that needs to do some introspection as well.

So Rwanda is 88% Christian and 2% Muslim
Mmmm

It cannot be easy to be a Muslim on this forum to see this stuff and I don't think that is acceptable.
Sylus, it looks like he is a non muslim from Cardiff. Do you feel you should apologise?

Same people who said he was a muslim who came on a small boat last year

Lying cunts
The man is a total c**t.

He’s looking for reasons to leave all the nasty stuff up by picking fault with people like you over semantics.

Turns my stomach to think that we have people like GIMOC, Earlsdon, Gynnstonic running around spouting their insidious, paranoid shite and the guy that runs the forum is more concerned with nitpicking over what exactly was said where.

It’s fucking disgusting- I know nobody will care and Nick will have some sort of macho pop, but take a step back and have a look what this forum is turning into.

kids murdered at a playschool and the guy that runs the forum is ok with it being turned into an anti-immigration & anti-muslim feeding frenzy.

GIMOC, Nick, Earlsdon, GynnsTonic and the rest of you- you’re all just cunts.

Interesting segment on Sky News about the misinformation spread on social media regarding the Southport situation. View attachment 37285

I know this will upset a few, but I'm really not interested in your rage, so don't bother. Maybe next time it happens (because it will happen again) think about the society you are living in, and what you want for your children. Sweeping it under the carpet only makes it worse.

You’ve been called out as racist many times, and your views are extreme right- you’re not someone who’s going to have the respect of any decent minded person, so crack on with the pissed up ranting 👍

He had a xian upbringing and looks like he was a recent convert to Islam. Did I need to know that to find the deaths of 3 innocent children and other adults and children or injured? No

Am I so upset at this action that I think a reasonable course of action is to get drunk with friends put offensive racist tweets out and go and protest at an invisible enemy that can’t answer?? No

It needs grown up people having grown up discussions about how to make this all work

We all bleed and we all want the best for our children. Let’s start there and then work outwards

I wasn't expecting either of you to deal with this with any kind of honour, but then again we knew that from your previous posts. No self awareness, no apology, no ability to debate a topic like this because you don't have the balls. You literally don't have any arguments, so you accuse people of being racist because it is easier. Rinse and repeat.

The irony to your responses being that you wouldn't command any respect in real life anyway. Refusing to talk to people with different views as has been admitted, or creating so many accounts because your old ones got humiliated to the point you had to start again.

The blood of children like these will be on your hands, you absolute cowards.

When I see your posts I see someone who has a lot of anger and pain, I don’t take any offence.

Do you have kids? I’d be surprised tbh
