First time I’ve seen 27500 announced though and you look round and there are blue seats everywhere. Usually over 27k and the place looks full. Maybe family zone people playing their joker to get out of it.
My mate who is a season ticket holder watched the match with me , at my house in Cov.

Seen a few on socials say its just not something they look forward to at the minute, starting to become a chore to go up

Can't really argue against that at the moment
Reminds me of our decline under SISU. The caveat being that more people are there to feel the pain. If the opposition stop us from getting a shot in, then the atmosphere becomes so stale. Job done. Plus we don’t seem to have any decent song for players.

Look at bloody Norwich. They know how to keep a crowd on side. It really is a let down this season. ST holders throwing money at the club. They will be stewing over whether it’s good value for money.

So what is King going to do? He’s been very quiet this season.

If it helps, maybe go on the club ticket site to see where the spaces will be on match day. It looked accurate to me. Having said that, there were fewer City fans there anyway. Derby sold out as well.

I don't think anyone expected us to be so poor last night especially in the first half . The atmosphere was in contrast to the Luton game where we started off on the front foot and kept on going even at 2-0. Last night we started poorly and gave away two poor goals.

Agreed.

Been sold a dream and the players are way way off the application the supporters have shown

We may be playing poor, especially at home but my word our atmosphere has completely died.

To go from the noise and vocal support from a year or two to that tonight is demoralising.

Even after we scored, there was nothing. No drive to push the players. The Derby fans got bored of taking the piss after a while.

We've gained up to 10,000 fans in 18 months and the noise levels and fallen off a cliff.
It’s a bad watch at the moment. 10,000 extra fans, all seeing a poor run. Many of them trying to fathom out what has changed on the pitch. Every game gives them more time to chew over whether it makes them happier coming up.

Totally agree. Easier going away and more enjoyable even with kids.

having to navigate traffic / road works and find parking - then watching the shit we serve mostly at home makes it painful.

…and the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half was even worse for atmosphere . Instead of coming out of the blocks, we were penned in our own half with Derby having corner after corner.
How different to the last time we played them at the CBS. I know it kicked off and we suffered the consequences in segregation but it was absolutely raucous - and that game was a fairly tame draw.

Always assumed because of your username you lived in Bangkok. Guess you did at one time though :)

The new layout doesn't help.

The fact that the south stand is mostly filled with people who moved for the atmosphere but don't start any songs hampers things. When the away fans were near the corner you could at least get something going with the away fans but now there's a thousand or so people waiting for someone else to start a song between.

At one point last night Haji Wright put the afterburners on and used his strength to power past the defender. The crowd lifted immediately. It was the one and only time him or anyone else did anything like that. We don't even have to win just have something that that raises the pulse

We didn’t even stay and clap the players after last night and we have clapped them after some shocking performances. As somebody said above we have lost momentum and it’s now up to King to bring in some players who can drag the others up and excite the fans.

They may not start the songs, but from my perspective it sounds good when we are all on song. I’m not interested in the away fans.

To be honest, there's an awful lot in South Stand who don't want to be there for the atmosphere. It's a real weird mix.

It doesn't help that you can't hear the corner either from block 10 and 11. The away fans drown it out.

If we're talking about the atmosphere then it's solely down to them moving away fans away from Singers Corner. We've had an absolute brilliant time giving it back and forth banter with the away fans from our STs in block 15 but we might as well be in the North Stand now for what it's worth. There isn't an incentive to move over to the SS right now though as it looks absolutely shit over there and they make no noise. Wank.

If the layout remains, the only way of changing that is by people moving.

Unfortunately, it won't happen because people are invested in sitting in their regular space. I still think it would be brilliant if you had 2/3 blocks behind the goal, next to the away fans making noise.

It is odd that the closest part of the ground to the away fans had the most empty seats

Create an area for those more interested in singing, if that is people's priority they will move there surely

That is literally what they did. Seems it isn’t people priority.

That's my point I guess people more interested in game and view which is my preference. I don't mind a big of a sing song but don't want to sit amongst a load of Palace faux Ultra gimps all game.

Loads of people in block 15 don't bother singing at all, ever. You need to stop going on about where the away fans are, or whether blocks 10-12 make enough noise.

You want an atmosphere back? Put the work in yourself wherever you sit, and if you're in the corner and see people being silent, call them on it. Otherwise, bore off.

In the internet world, those lovely words work. In real life, they don't.

Couldn't believe how many people were sat down in 14 and 15 yesterday.

Disagree. In the first half vs. Luton, Simms had a tough chance on his left foot, keeper stopped it. Bloke behind me in block 15 started screaming that Simms was sh*t. I turned round and pointed out he'd got one on target using his weaker foot when the ball was played behind him. He stopped screaming at our players and we hugged when the equaliser went in. It is a choice; you want different? Do something about it.

The whole feel good thing of the last few years isn't there right now. Even the live and die in these towns was mistimed and cocked up last night

I mean, this is it for me. Evening games in particular are a pain in the arse, the stadium is good once you're there but it's never been worse getting there and especially getting back. Everyone's in a bad mood before the game has even started, and it's starting to stack up the amount of times we're just left stewing in the newly exacerbated post-match traffic after we've been served another loss, sat there thinking "and why exactly am I putting myself through this?"

Remember when we played in grounds during covid with no fans, we didn’t play bad then? It’s hard to get behind peformances like that

Not a single players or Robins song was sung last night until Tats scored. Has the drummer left too or thrown his toys out of the pram again? If so, we hopefully can recruit another who is less precious and beats hus drum.

Doesn't help that we don't have many decent songs either, most of the good ones (Fadz, Callum, Gus & Vik) gave long gone now.

Feels like an odd thing to say but honestly, it's hard to know whether the fact that our new signings still don't have a song of their own is a result of the problem or symptomatic of the causes of the problem, or perhaps both.
