Who's been in Kings ear? (2 Viewers)

Robins sacking has been in the pipeline for a while as King goes about restructuring the club.

But the man with no interest in football surely didn't come up with this idea himself did he?
.who's been putting ideas in his head?

What league table?
He started this last season when things were going quite well.
Though you probably still think it was Robins

Genuine question, bearing in mind we’re in the top 6 spenders of the division.

At what point does ‘Oh well Coventry always start off slow’ not become an excuse anymore!?

Probably a poster on here, it's the kind of skullduggery I'd expect from him 🤣

It's quite funny that you've totally misunderstood the thrust of the thread.

Not really, At a guess you’re implying that one of his recently appointed executive structure is the person who’s told him to pull the trigger!?

Don’t worry though, let’s not try make improvements on the pitch by trying to be run like a professional outfit off it…

Look at the league table and look at how we’ve been playing the last 8 months. Take the sentiment away and the FA cup semi final, we’re going backwards at a rapid rate.

The money we’ve spent (regardless of whether it came out of Doug’s pocket or not) the excuse of we always start slow doesn’t wash any more.

Yes you clearly have
Let me reiterate, I'm talking about the decision to overhaul the coaching structure, not sack Robins.

Where did a man with no interest in football get the idea to do it, especially at a time when things on the playing side were going pretty well.

Oh and the well MR always finds a way to turn it around. Look at the performances of late, as much as I hate to say it. Things were never turning around.

2 wins papered over glaring flaws, performances haven’t been up to any sort of standard we should expect with the money that has been spent, whether that’s on the players or MR is up for debate but football is a results driven business and the league table doesn’t lie.

We weren't when he started the process though.

Grief. King has taken our money. We deserve to see a good product on the pitch. Relegation form since February. He gave MR a lot of time. Robins said as much in recent post match interviews. ‘I could have been sacked.’

Also. We on here have discussed apparent personal issues. it’s Shit. But we need to stay up and move on. Get someone in now and hit the transfer mkt. Sheaf, Haji, Van ewick et al wiil be looked at by clubs as well.

Read my post again you clown.
You've answered a question I haven't asked, wasting both our times.

Going pretty well? Look at the back end of last season when Adi was still here…Were the results still going pretty well then?

At a guess I would say most of the teams in this league will have a similar coaching set up to the new regime whether there comparable on a skill level is another thing but the numbers etc I’d say are.

Our form was terrible at the end of last season.

The process started last year. Way before our end of season drop-off.
What, or who, prompted it?

King would have been here less that a year and admits to having no football knowledge.

I mean, the alternative scenario is a lot more troubling imo. If they’re not advising him on matters like these then I’m not sure why they’re there in the first place.

Ultimately, this right here is the reason. I know the figures are likely not completely accurate, but we all know we've spent a lot of money trying to replace two exceptional players and for whatever reason it hasn't worked out. Ultimately the man at the top will be the one who pays the price for the poor form of relatively expensive players.

Which process?

All of the coaches etc came in over the summer didn't they? Recruitment for them started with Lawrence left.

Absolutely.

That's an absurd sum of money, even in the modern game.

To be where we are in the league and to start and finish so poorly last season is simply not good enough.

Care to elaborate?

King started implementing the new structure last season. Roberts was appointed in December.
Boateng arrived in July.

Where did this football novice get the idea to do this from?
Has he got someone advising him, did he watch a YouTube video?

Yet the next “Head Coach” will have to work with the same players picked by the same scouts. Because that’s elite.
