This season was decided in the summer (7 Viewers)

Add to that the wrong replacement for MacFadzene
It’s very similar to the Mowbray season we dropped to league 2, recruitment was messed up. Though this time I don’t feel like it was the managers fault at all.

I have a real feeling we will be seriously fighting relegation this year

Such a difficult run of games now and our players just don't have confidence, the only person I had confidence turning out season round has been sacked.

Really hope I'm wrong.

Doug King needs a Director of Football quickly to make the footballing decisions, I and probably many others do not trust him fully to get it right

I'm willing to give him a chance to see who he appoints, but it's still very raw at present

With the lack of signings in central midfield, the sacking of Adi, and the appointment of seemingly average coaches, I feel this season was decided by these poor decisions in the summer.

It's not as though we didn't try to sign a central midfield player in the summer. We might have one that couldn't be completed and set up for January?

Average coaches - have any of us seen them coach. We are just going on results not how they coach. The players just haven't delivered this season and haven't delivered the tactics. Coaches don't coach players to be sloppy in possession.

Half time panic thread lol

Recruitments fine. We just missed out on a central midfielder. It's very obvious the club tried to get some targets in

They will try again in the next window. That's life
That’s true, but also not recruiting a midfielder and the restructuring made this season an uphill struggle

We were playing poorly for months before the summer. Sloppy goals, poor basics (passing, moving, control, corners, throw ins, supporting team mates), apparently low motivation level. In fact just like after the Summer. You have to look at the manager for a good chunk of that I'm afraid.
The Summer recruitment of Dovin, BTA, EMC, Rudoni, Norman, mystery Aussie didn't add much quality and seems to have confused Robins even more re his best 11 and how to handle a bigger squad.
I agree a quality midfielder would have helped a lot (and that's not Browne who is injured a lot, or Matty James). We need genuine quality.
It will be very interesting how much budget the new guy gets for January and who might be offloaded. We need to keep Wright, but I'm not bothered about MVE.

We had four kids and three keepers on the bench last game. Do we have a big squad?
