My big worry would be having a Board of one. Anyone needs other voices in the room or you just have a dictatorship and we all know how that ends. Don't see elite clubs having a Board of one.

Chris and I have a mutual friend. An ex pro (England International) that previously worked with Chris.

I don’t have an opinion either way. All I’m saying is what happened doesn’t appear to jive with what was said tonight.

Then I suspect your source could be reliable but it’s also equally possible that Robins could’ve jettisoned the deal.

I would have been interested to hear a lot more about the proposed role of head coach and what the difference is between that and Robins' role.

Yet we heard fuck all about it because of the the shite questions from both the audience and some of the CWR representatives.

The jist of what he said was that managers down the pyramid do a lot of shit that shouldn’t be in their remit. The example used was booking accommodation or coaches or something, I wasn’t sure if that was in specific reference to Robins in the L2 and L1 days.

The purpose of a head coach structure to make it more appropriate for an elite setup and role being purely focused on coaching and developing the current ‘deck’ of players.

That’s what I took from that snippet. I agree there too many emotional fans making snarky comments about him making ‘many mistakes’ or asking what the performance director does - frankly, that question didn’t need to be asked because it’s self-evident and glad King came out strongly against the misogynistic comments many of our fans have spouted on it.

After the bombshell at the start, the questions should’ve been around what are they looking for in the new manager and how we move this club forward after making such an unpopular decision.

Didn't like that one bit tonight ,I'm sorry but to put the blame on Robins for everything and take credit for the good isn't leadership .
King came across as incredibly egotistical and self indulged .

Surely the manager has responsibility on the football side. Flip side, If the team does well, do you want DK taking credit for that?

Don’t buy it. Would love to hear Robins version but never will which is more than fair as he’s got his payout to think about. Most informative answer was when asked who the Board was. Just him. It’s the DK show folks.

don’t say that. doesn’t go with the narrative

I mean you’ve been quite vocal for a long time that it was DK that took away Robins tools and dismantled the coaching setup.

That’s not quite true though is it???

He did however say that should we be relegated nobody would still be here , but Dean would... why ? Another weird thing to say

I won't lie, some of the things he said were really interesting to me and I hope they make people pause and consider things from a slightly different perspective.

Said he couldn't ignore that he'd brought a lot of players in on long contracts with promises made about the club etc. and that he has to consider them in all of this.

Sounds like something weird was going on with trying to get an AV replacement in. Felt like DK wanted to say more but held back, let people see if they can join the dots.
It sounded like he was saying MR wants to be the big dog and doesn’t like anyone who undermines him?

Yeah he said no contact between him and FL and then said he had applied for it but no contact.

Unless I am missing one?

That lines up with what King said on the radio. That they had spent today sorting through CV's, and that from tomorrow they'll move on to the next steps

89% of comments on this forum are people positing opinions as truths, and it is wild.

Especially from anyone with a semblance of ITK status weaponising said status to try and protect said status 🤣

People need to get very comfortable very quickly that no-one will know the full truth of any of this, and the quicker we get away from feverishly feasting on speculation, the quicker we and the club can just move on.

People that applied for number 2 roles only wanted to be number 1s sadly 🙄
Then they we’re stupid or the advert misleading or BS tonight.

Also, why did no one ask him what he did to repair the “divorce” he cited, surely some marriage counselling to repair it should have been the order of the day if he believed they were the special partnership to deliver what he wanted and are we really saying that the article in the telegraph really upset Mark that much that he said, after that article, I am never working with him again.
I may be wrong but I cannot remember anything controversial that was in the article.

Sorry, but opportunity lost with people in shock at the meeting and not focusing on the bits for challenge because DK destabilised them with his version of the truth knowing that Adi and Mark, as he said tonight, have signed NDA’s
He has to hope that the two never work together again at another club for that to hold true in the long term.

If you do that won't be the whole truth.
You'll be left trying to best guess what's actually correct from the 2 versions.

He said "if it does take that long then it takes that long, we have to get it right"
If that is what he said, it makes the sacking of MR after the poor Derby performance look even more knee jerk than it did at the time....which does undermine part of the narrative he was selling.

What's Doug supposed to say then? Just let people spread lies and believe he has wrecked the club? People want answers and if that's his version of the truth then he has every right to present it. This forum has been full of people blaming Doug for Adi leaving and forcing staff hires on Mark Robins all he did was say his version of the events.

yeah I know. I’ll never not be of the view Robins should have had more time, and it was a shitty way to go about things, but life goes on and all that.
Some you can’t win . Being slagged off for sacking Robins suddenly and others saying why did he give him so long this season if he knew thing weren’t working
