Why are you getting angry about stuff you have no idea is true or not?

Firstly, I said IF.

Secondly, this is the Internet. Not everything said on the Internet is said seriously, an awful lot of it is said tongue in cheek. You of all people should know that - say hi to your cousin!

Maresca, Kompany, Silva, Farke, Bielsa, Nuno, Benitez the last winners of the championship.

All new to the league and not your British Moyes types.

We have to take the risk that RvN could be that guy.

I’d be more interested in finding out the managers who were promoted via the play offs, it’s not a realistic expectation under any manager we’re going to win the league.

Since it is apparently Ruud, I hope we future proof us with the contract release clause or we bring in a Number two who is expected to make the move to full time when Ruud moves on (Robbie Keane maybe, Worked a lot as a number two in the game?)
When Eustace got sacked from Birmingham I said at the time we should of got him in as number 2 to MR with the plan that if Robins left or got sacked like he has he would be a ready replacement.

Have to agree with this. Burnely/Kompany had won that league before a ball was kicked, he purely just had to keep that message there throughout the season.

Would of meant pushing Adi Vinesh out though, which hasn’t turned out for the best.

What? No I haven't 😂

I was very disappointed in the decision to sack Robins, as were most people, but I think you have the wrong person if you think I've been crying about King for two weeks.

In fact a quick check shows I've mentioned the word King three times and Doug three times in the last two weeks. So yeah, wrong guy.

Fair enough. My bad

Purely on about the Championship season. As in we (in theory) aren't aiming for the Title, nor do we have a team currently good enough for the title whereas Burnely did.
No I'm saying acting like Kompany did nothing special in that season is incorrect that's all

High profile manager gets a side to the title with a team that's worth significantly more than 90% of the teams in that league and also had the backing/arse licking of Sky. Yeah, warra fairytale.

Kompany's name certainly helped attract a better class of player, but I remember before that season started there were quite a few posting on here that they had financial issues and would struggle, so their success that season wasn't neccessarily the given its now remembered as.

Was it financial issues or a gamble on going up or going bust? I know their fans were gloating on Twitter about not touching the parachute payments.

Now, without really knowing much about his style of football there was a time I’d have thought Rowett would be good for us if Robins left.
Rowett has a proven track record of getting teams near or in the play offs with multiple clubs without ever quite getting them over the line. Done it at Birmingham, Derby and Millwall. Would be an underwhelming appointment but his cv isn't bad.

Agreed, it would’ve been a good appointment had we been at the lower end of the table. Ultimately couldn’t keep Birmingham up last season either.

Yea it's a good job we're not near the bottom and one point above the drop zone.

He got 11 points in 8 games last season for Birmingham, not world beating but enough to suggest he could have kept them up had he came in earlier. Rooney and Mark Venus did the damage for Birmingham.

From their team that got relegated they lost Pope, Collins, Mee, Tarkowski, McNeil, Cornet and Weghorst bringing in approximately £70m. Kompany then spent about £25m in transfer fees, using his knowledge of European players, particularly from Belgium, together with 2 strong loans in Maatsen and Harwood-Bellis.

As I said there were plenty on here that prior to the season starting thought that Kompany's lack of Championship experience would tell against him, and trying to change tactics to a more possession based style would mean they would struggle. He more than proved them wrong, even if it could be argued that once in the PL he should have revised those tactics a little and been more pragmatic.

Go have a look then.

I think it at least demonstrates a trend that modern possession based coaches are the way to go. Not someone that sets up to stay in a game.

I disagree with this.

There was lots of talk that Kompany would flop as they had to completely overhaul the squad and style of play.

Yes the most expensive squads tend to win the league but maresca and kompany style allowed them to dominate most games at this level.

Not a fairytale but idiotic to say he did the bare minimum. It's his style of play that got him to Bayern.

Meanwhile idiots on here acting like rob Edwards is a better manager than Kompany lol

His style of play works at Bayern because generally that football works with elite players or a big technical advantage over the opposition. He has both there, but neither at Burnley when they got crushed in the top flight.

But won the championship using that same style.

He stuck to his guns in prem and I respect that. I remember you waxing lyrical about how Edwards played in the prem. How did they do again? Oh yeah relegated too.

It's really simple do you want mark robins replaced by a manager who may make it to the v top of just someone you can say yeah he's pragmatic???

The former for me.

I didn't wax lyrical about Edwards in the PL, still his team came the closest to survival despite having spent practically nothing on the team. Kompany stuck to his guns and got annihilated, Russell Martin is doing the same this season. Coming up with something to suit the players you've got is the essence of good management, forcing a system on players who can't execute the plans undoes managers in our league and others every season.

Arseing around at the back works when you have either much better players than the opposition or you have world class players at your disposal. The season he got caught out was the season he didn't have either.

RvN may be another manager who can get what he wants from top level players but not Championship ones. If we go down that route and that's the case, then down we go.

Can only play out from back of have better players?

So Brighton and Bournemouth have much better players than the rest of teams in prem?

Really?
