It's usually done by committee. No point the DOF brining in a player that the head coach doesn't want and won't play. And the DOF is there to manage heads of all departments, and provide some continuity.

Lampard has managed at this level before, he knows how much managers at clubs like Cov get paid.

He needs a club like ours to rebuild his career and he is rich enough to never have to work again so I can't see him scuppering his chance by being stupid. He is a pretty smart man after all.

Difference in Jobs tho right, Rooney just got relegated at Brum (pretty much) and moved to a relegation candidate team so wouldn’t expect high budget.

For a team with top six ambitions, you would expect top half wages not the bottom half we have.

Managers are comparatively easy to replace. Top players are significantly more valuable to a team.
