On eustace , I absolutely do not believe that's an upgrade at all and would be a cheap shit appointment

Don't worry not going to happen, King would have to pay Blackburn compensation. 🤔

Mount, Reese James, Abraham, Tomori he brought through in his first season there. Yes these are exceptional players but it's all relative to the level, they still got a top 4 spot. Kovacic got player of the season so it wasn't all the youngsters either.

You are allowed an opinion but I'm just pointed out it is misguided.

He had an exceptional set of kids to bring through there. There’s no equivalent here with Kai Andrews and Aiden Dausch.

These were his most played players. Outside of Mount and Abraham and Pusilic (who had been signed from Borussia Dortmund for almost £60m) there’s not really “kids” there.

You could argue without Mount and Abraham coming of age when they did he’d have struggled at Derby too.

I’m just not seeing the evidence for this meme that he’s bringing on loads of young players. Mount and Abraham were hardly unknowns beforehand.

Doug did say that any appointment would not be rushed in his Talk Sport interview. He said as long as they are in place by the middle of December to influence the January transfer window then he would wait for the right man. That said it wouldn't surprise if this drags on a bit longer.

He didn’t have Abraham at Derby. He’d spent the season on loan at Villa.

No ones talking about Dausch or Andrews ffs

What you’ve shown actually supports their argument. Youngish players (>25) with a few seasons under their belt but not necessarily established at the level. That describes about half our squad.

And he just about got them achieving what they should for a season before failing and being replaced with someone who achieved the same with that squad from a lower start.

I’m just not seeing anything that suggests he gets more from a deck than the median at best. It may be our median is top six, Doug seems to think so, I’m not convinced.

Tomori came in from Chelsea along with Mount.

That’s the badger. Point is unless we decide to break the bank on loans, which King has explicitly ruled out and could easily rule in with any manager, there’s little evidence of Lampard improving a squad.

He got top 4 in the prem. I’m surprised how much that gets overlooked.

Mount had never played a PL game beforehand. Abraham had made two appearances. They got 22 goals between them in their first season playing at that level. James had never played a PL game or Tomori.

Using your logic anything other than 5th place last season was a catastrophic failure on the part of Robins

If we are pretending to be meme goldfish with season long memories sure. You can keep trying to bring up Robins in comparison but robins was manager for seven years because he delivered.

Any new manager should be delivering too. I’m concerned we’re going for a name that’s a mates kid instead of trying to get someone in with the tactical knowledge we are desperately missing.

And you are choosing to completely ignore the elements of the Lampard management history which endorse any reason for giving him a chance.
Give us your pick then so we can trash it; n the same manner. Do you actually know it's a mates kid or just choosing to believe it because someone posted it on here ?

Top 6 in the playoffs with an impressive 2 leg win over Bielsa’s Leeds.

He kept Everton up in his next job and that role is a poisoned chalice. Dyche is doing a better job but that’s not a blot of Lampard’s career. Dyche has established himself as one of the best managers for upper Championship/lower Premiership teams.

The big blot on his career was his second spell at Chelsea which at this point, the players had checked out. If Potter or Potchettino couldn’t get much out of these players, what chance does an inexperienced Lampard have?

Lampard will be a good enough manager in the Championship team. There isn’t a better (realistic) candidate.

Its funny he accuses others of believing shite on social media - he is one of the biggest culprits

We know Austin has links to Lampard Sr, we think King has to Redknapp, but it’s my worry not my rock solid belief.

I honestly dont see anything good in Lampard. He spends a lot, doesn’t improve squads, is tactically naive. He’ll require a big wage as will his entourage.

It’s a huge gamble seemingly (seemingly being the key word) being done for the wrong reasons with little football justification.

Before Robins went this was the exact sort of appointment people like me said they worried King would make.

When/if he’s announced I’ll swing behind him cos it’s my club, but it really worries me.

Are you saying they should have been 3rd in his year? 1 place off where they should be … if we go off the season expectations I’ll take that.

My concern is he costs a lot to get a club about where they should be, at this level it’s shit or bust really and if you haven’t got the nous to get into and more importantly through the play offs then there’s not much point. As I say I’m not sure this squad on cruise control is a top six squad. But maybe I’m wrong.

We had loans lined up in the summer but for a variety of reasons they fell through. So that isn't correct.

My thoughts are the same.

Been reading on here how well he did at Derby. He also is said to have done well at Chelsea. Yet he hasn't been given a chance elsewhere.

The time could be right for him now with a bit of experience under his belt. Time will tell. But as I said before I'm not sure how our support will take him if he gets off to a bad start. But he will have my backing whatever if he is announced.
