One thing I’ve always admired about Robins is his stoicism.
I know people are going to 'it's CCFC not Robins FC - you melt!' me for this but watching that video I had this sudden realisation that I probably wouldn't have sacked him even if Lampard came with guaranteed quick win promotion. It was a journey we were on together - it kinda feels like I've shanked a mate in search of glory. This genuinely makes me sad.
Hearing him speak in a capacity that isn’t our manager is odd.
Still, I’m sure someone will quote the back end of last season as justification.
The more I think about that conference the more issues it raises and the less I like it. I think it's best I just forget it ever happened. It’s old school dignity isn’t it ? like Mowbray or Hodgson. A rare attribute these days.
It’s why Doug’s opening statement was such a shock- and probably why he gambled on Robins not rebutting it . Might be true what King said but very cynical.

I think there’s more to it than that tbh. For example, he would always talk about focussing on what you can control not what you can’t, accepting there will always been change and challenges and not complaining about it.It’s old school dignity isn’t it ? like Mowbray or Hodgson. A rare attribute these days.

Like the Coventry Buddah....he would always talk about focussing on what you can control not what you can’t, accepting there will always been change and challenges and not complaining about it.
I would of liked him to go into fuming fan mode publically after the Haji offside.Like the Coventry Buddah.
Yep more class in his little finger than Doug showed for the first 15 mins of the discussion! It’s old school dignity isn’t it ? like Mowbray or Hodgson. A rare attribute these days.

Watch him still refer to us as 'our supporters' and not get a slight tear in you eye, I dare you
I think it might need a bit of a reality check, I know that he was the manager a long time and we had good times but the stuff about "hearing his voice". He was still the manager 2 weeks ago and he hasn't died.
Get me a voice clip of my dad who died when I was young and let me hear that and it would actually be surreal.
Not sure what planet some people are on sometimes.
Is that a big can of King of Shaves gel they've presented him with?Looks much better in this hat. Dr Robins - the man who gave us 4 superb days out at Wembley. Thank you.

Think the Wolves ball boy was his one brief indiscretion & I'm all for itI would of liked him to go into fuming fan mode publically after the Haji offside.
Ran on to the pitch even , Turkey style.
Just the once Mark, you would definitely of been forgiven by the world of football.
Robins was sacked for a defeat to the worst Chanpionship side to ever play at the CBS.Lampard relegates us.
Doug sells up.
Robins comes back for L1 Promotion 2: This time it’s personal and we get a proper promotion celebration.
Also they bring back Mars Planets.
Visions of a huge gang of SBT volunteers donning animal skins, and moving it across the CBS car park using a system of wooden levers and rollers, like the bluestones at StonehengeJimmy hill statue is very very heavy
I think that's more sensible than a statue tbhI'd like to see him honoured by having a prominent building or road named after him!
Boddy boardwalkI think that's more sensible than a statue tbh
Robins rise
(Robins is mean)I reckon he was only being nice because he knows he's getting a statue.
Could we rename the anecdote to something related. Be nice to rip out the last wasp creation.I'd like to see him honoured by having a prominent building or road named after him!
I think Robins did more for this club than anyone in decades, and IMHO dismissing him was unfair, rash and an unnecessary risk to the club.I think it might need a bit of a reality check, I know that he was the manager a long time and we had good times but the stuff about "hearing his voice". King was in a hard position. To be fair to him, he let Viveash leave quietly in the summer, and backed Robins to bring in his new coaching team. He had months of keyboard warriors saying that he was going behind Robins back, forced Adi out and slapped a new coaching structure down. It’s old school dignity isn’t it ? like Mowbray or Hodgson. A rare attribute these days.
