Rowleys Green Roundabout. Flagpoles (3 Viewers)

Why doesn't some authoritative body do something with the flagpoles on the island? They look so barren and have sat there barren since the end of the Olympics doing nothing.

Even if branding etc is a legal issue (club crest flags) then surely having a mixture of sky blue and white coloured flags would be better than barren poles on that roundabout.

Been lying awake all night worrying about this.

Needs much more than that, the whole area is a complete mess. Given how for many visitors, this is pretty much all they will see of our city, not creating a great impression. Nothing wrong with a bit of civic pride. As the busiest entry point into the city, we should try a bit harder.

Hard to believe after 20 years, there has not been any attempt at wider regeneration. On a side note, did here that Dhillons were looking to acquire the scrap yard on the roundabout and turn that into a new fan park.

The worst thing for me was that when we had the Olympics the rings looked great on there. They go on about the legacy of the Olympics but they had to be took down after it finished. No one would even no the Olympics had been at the stadium.

That scrap yard is worth a fortune in oil.

My god that would be amazing, if the club owned the arena it would be a perfect investment. Wonder if we could go in with Dhillions if true

I remember some City fans crying on here when Skyblue Ribbons were flown from them.

Wonder if they still have padlocks on some of them......

They are definitely looking at it. They've discussed with council who are willing to free up the land (it's a Tom White Waste site which the council owns). The issue is raising the funds to do it I guess.

As for club being involved, I think the relationship has chilled somewhat since King took control, but would be good if they did.

There used to be Wasps ones on there regularly.

Maybe someone should plant a load of bulbs on the roundabout in the shape of Robins face with the phrase "Robins is out king" so every time Mike Ashley flies in with his helicopter he will forever be reminded of MR being stabbed in the back.

Wonder if they could get fan investment. Might get a couple to throw a bit of money on it
