If Rhys Carr was Announced as manager (1 Viewer)

It's not happening. But, even if it was on the table, I don't think you can really judge him on the basis of two or three games as a temporary manager. He's done well for the job he was asked to do, I'm not sure that necessarily translates into the same if he had the job full time.

We well remember the Andy Thorn situation, after all.

Rhys has done really well to be fair to him, but it's only 2 games.

I think he'd be better suited to being in the setup but not the main man.

He’s also played two teams we always do well against TBF. This season they look big games but most years we’d expect to get something from Sunderland and Sheff Utd let’s be honest.

So he’s done really well. Made some clever tweaks and changes and seemingly got some fire under the lads.

But think he’s just too raw at this moment in time. I would hope we look to develop him into the role if it’s something he wants and would do as much as I could to help this whether that’s badges or getting him to manager the U21s for a skint.

Just worries me that it’s too soon and we really don’t need another Andy Thorn

He won’t. Haven’t seen any difference from what we were doing before. It’s a difficult job when you’ve got to score 3 to win. Our defence is an absolute issue.

(i should get a job at Coventry Live for clickbait!)

to be fair, i think he has done well.

I think King would be viewed as a complete cheapskate if he went with Carr.

I have nothing against any of the coaching staff, I think we recruited and promoted good coaches and I think they will get better. But none are ready to step up yet on a full-time basis.

Only a few weeks ago people were saying how crap the coaches were.

King has to deliver what he has said he is looking for to replace Robins. An elite coach with a lot of tactical knowledge (not someone who might become an elite coach).

This is the most bizarre criticism of someone I think I’ve ever seen

The way the season has gone, two points against the Top 2 is a job well done and he has laid a solid platform for whoever the new manager will be

If not with us think he will forge a decent career in the game - Speaks well and obviously an able coach (even though on here he’s deemed a clown because he like most other coaching set ups uses an iPad:ROFLMAO:)

I think going unbeaten against the top 2 when most people aren't exactly fully with you is fairly admirable. I like his positivity too.
That said, obviously he's not getting the job, let's be serious.

One thing he should be given credit for is when asked about the quality that Sheff Utd have before the game he should "Well we've got good players too". That's quite different from Robins who would usually emphasise how good the opposition are.

Also after the Sunderland game he was asked something like 'were you surprised Sunderland let you back into it?'

And he replied (something like) 'did they let us back in or did we force our way back in to it?'

He's done an admirable job but I would be amazed if he was given the job.

Only reason I'd even consider it is because it likely a poisoned chalice at the moment after Robins so maybe having a short term appointment as a palette cleanser to give a serious candidate a bit more wiggle room.

He has shown he understands the game and is no different from McKenna. Comes unannounced and very much a young sensible talker. Give him time under a good coach and he is the next in line, unless others see what he gas done in lower League's and gives him the chance to take control

He’s definitely done something right. We look so much more positive and confident over the last couple of weeks, yesterday in particular.
I dont think that he wont be getting this time but may be in with a shout if the new bloke doesn’t do well
