Nostalgic memories of the days when the CET and the Pink were pretty much the only regular source of information about all things Sky Blue. Buying the Telegraph every afternoon to see the latest about the team and transfer news; waiting outside the paper shop at 6pm on a Saturday for a bundle of Pinks tied up with a cord to be thrown out of a black van onto the pavement.

Neville was the key part of all that for many years, and you could feel his dedication to the job of reporting on football for the benefit of the fans.

RIP

Ah, that's a shame. Grew up reading his reports. RIP.

That is sad new because I grew up with his excellent reporting. Seeing his name meant you were getting what you needed to know. To good journalistic standards and the volume and level of detail and research appropriate to the subject matter, i.e. a lot where needed. Not just soundbites and quotes with no real analysis. Farewell and thank you Neville.

Got a great book written by him about the Cantwell era

Aw that’s a shame. Had the Cup Final as a pinnacle of his long career . I really hope Clive gets to see us promoted too.
The Telegraph although not a shadow of itself does seem to have long serving City reporters.
Who was after Foulger? Was it Adam Dent or was there someone in between and then Andy Turner who had been around a while himself now.

Great football writer who was never surpassed by any of his successor's.

I still have a copy of his last pink report, from the Cup Final. I used to love the Preview of the season they used to produce in the eighties full of his articles.
Yeah, the pre-season preview was great. I couldn't wait for it coming out to ramp up the excitement for the season ahead.
