Wasn't my first choice but I see it as a good thing that Lampard has a point to prove. He has managed in the prem for a couple of years so would like to think he wouldn't be tempted to jump ship at the first chance of premiership job, whereas some of the other names being linked felt like we would be a stepping stone for them. Same here; he was a key figure of the 1997-2000 CCFC team that was around when I first started supporting the club, and it's always a thrill when a former player returns as a coach. Shame it hasn't worked out
